A quick mother-daughter trip to DC and I was looking for a place with some atmosphere but was quiet enough that my daughter and I could talk. The Peacock Cafe was perfect in every way! The staff was very solicitous, and my grilled halibut was delicious. My daughter had a lovely mushroom risotto and we finished with the chocolate lava cake-it melted in our mouths. I highly recommend this restaurant in every way. Indoor & outdoor seating available and several vegetarian options to choose from. Thanks for making this a special occasion for us, Peacock Cafe staff!
Delicious and very fresh food. They offered a Pris fixe menu for a starter, main and a dessert for $48. I ordered their arugula salad with Gouda, halibut in white wine butter sauce and the banana pecan bread pudding. Everything was so fresh. The halibut was delicious and well cooked. I loved the flavor of the bread pudding, but I felt the texture seemed rubbery. Perhaps it was reheated using a microwave! Other than that it was delicious, and the caramel sauce was deliciously buttery and not too sweet. Also, the cinnamon ice cream was very delicious. Nice service, everyone was very attentive.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed an early (6:15) dinner for two inside the restaurant. Easy, casual dining with great food and not all the the pretentious of other DC spots. Delicious summer harvest pasta and the Cajun chicken salad was just perfect. Highly recommended
The staff was very nice and caring. I would definitely come back here and recommend this to my friends and family. The decor is gorgeous and the food is amazing. Thank you for a great birthday brunch!

Iâm not sure when peacock became so elitist. Apparently we donât know the right people to get even decent service which is a shame as we have been coming here for years and it truly was my favorite restaurant in DC.
