Other than a few self-centered people who think it is okay to park their vehicles on the grass next to the pavilions and not clean up after themselves....Great location to relax and take in the view.
Best Chinese food we've had since living in the Boston area for the past 24 years! Reminded us of certain restaurants we used to go to in London. Ordered shredded chilli beef (fantastic), chicken and cashew nuts and bean sprouts with Chinese leeks. Came with white rice. Will definitely go back next time we are in DC.
As a resident of San Francisco and frequent traveler to china, this is my go to restaurant in DC. Service is good and food spicy . If possible I get in at 1130am and leave by 1230 and get the early bird price. Not sure about deliveries but they do take outs
Had lunch here with friends after doing the tour of White House and the Eisenhower (Old) Executive Office Building. Marinated Duck (cold appetiser), Wonton Soup, and Country Style Sea Capt were all delectable, and with superb service as well. No wonder so many DC dignitaries have graced this establishment (as evidenced from the photos on the wall).
We are here as a matter of convenience on a Sunday evening with not a lot open around it. We were not expecting much and we were wrong. This place is very good. The chicken hot and sour soup was spicy and good flavored. We got spinach and garlic and bok Choi and mushrooms and they were both very good. spinach included wood ear mushroom which was a nice touch. We also got a two kind of shrimp dish, half spicy and half not. Outstanding flavoring and good veggies with it as well. They have an interesting and pretty extensive menu and the service was very friendly.
I was an elite Yelper and only used to write reviews on Yelp, but am now starting to migrate everything to tripadvisor because it's more international. --- My review from July 2014: I live right in foggy bottom and am so glad there's a place like Sichuan Pavilion near me. It's pricey, but is also literally the only decent Chinese food place in DC. Every time I come here, I get the tender beef in hot sauce, the cold spicy chicken appetizer, the eggplant and the kung pao chicken or lamb. I've tried a few other things on the menu- abalone, mapo tofu, spicy fish etc, but would stick with the few I listed above. I also always get the pearl in sweet rice soup - it's a very traditional Chinese dessert and Sichuan Pavilion is the only place in the DMV area I'm aware of that has it. Service here is consistently good, fast and attentive, so I have no complaints on that front either. A dead giveaway as to how good the place is is the large number of Asian patrons on any given night. Try it out- you won't be disappointed. Be warned, though- because it's so authentic, the spicy dishes are truly spicy and have not been altered to suit the American palate. --- I would now also add that Sichuan Pavilion is still as good as it was 5 years ago. I moved away from DC in 2016 but have gone back every year for my favorite beef dish and it's never changed.
Ate Thanksgiving Dinner here with family. Generous Portions of Delicious Chinese's Fare. Everything served piping hot. Good Wait Service. Would eat here again.
Very good food and reasonable price. Can be crowded but staff generally good. I see Chinese crowds when international conventions are in town. I like the hunan beef without the broccoli. Sometimes have discounts for early lunches
Nice outing with family and friends! It was very nice and peaceful ❤ I would definitely go again!
Super clean. Great view of the National Monument. Great place for picnics!
