Perfect expression of modern Mexican. The food was excellent and so were the drinks. The salsa game is strong. Tortillas were made in house.Ay, vayan. Les va gustar.
This place is special. A fairly typical menu, but elevated by so much care and attention to the ingredients. Ranch Gordo beans, paper thin homemade tortillas, vibrant salsas. The food tastes and feels really fresh and wholesome, with no compromise on enjoyment. Nice service too and a lovely low-key vibe that walks a line between taco joint and date-night cuteness. Great veggie options too. Go all the time so this place is still in business when I come back to DC! ❤️?
Fantastic, high-quality interior Mexican/Latin cuisine, very vegetarian friendly. (Great meat options too of course, but honestly the veggie options are pretty special and sometimes a first choice.) One of my favorite DC spots. Really, really great service that’s also not suffocating. Honestly some of the best margaritas (and similar cocktails) I’ve had anywhere in the country—truly. I go out of my way to come here.
I really don’t know where to start with this review, because the entire experience from staff to service to ambiance and most importantly the food was perfection. I was warmly greeted upon arrival and quickly shown to a table. Decided to start with the Bobby Loves Mango cocktail..it was good, but maybe I’m not a mezcal girl it was just a bit too spicy and smoky for me. Next was the queso fundido appetizer with chorizo and it was sooo good. Spicy chorizo and super melty cheese with warm, soft flour tortillas. For my main I went back and forth, initially considered the quesadilla or tacos but the waiter recommended the whole fish.. so I decided to go with that and it was definitely the highlight of the entire meal!! You first “taste” with your eyes, and it was the most beautifully presented dish I’ve ever had in my life. Then I tasted it and the flavors blew me away. The fish is served with taco fixins, so every bite is different depending on whether you pair it with the sliced avocado, herbs, edible flowers or pickled onions. I didn’t touch the tortillas, didn’t need them for the fish but they were great the next day with my leftover queso fundido. The fish was so good I had to force myself to stop eating it so I could save some for the next day to relive this glorious culinary experience all over again. It was so good I thought about that fish throughout the following day at work until I made it home and enjoyed my leftovers for dinner. They offer 2 dessert options and I’m not a fan of flan’s texture so I ended up getting the tres leches cake. I’m not a fan of sponge cake but the tres leches was the perfect ending to a perfect meal. It was moist, full of flavor and not too sweet. Reading the menu I learned about their mission to pay their employees a living wage and support the Latin American immigrant community. In case you can’t tell I’m now a big fan of Muchas Gracias, love everything about this restaurant and can’t wait to bring my friends and family here for a meal.
Incredible food, very creative modern Mexican. We came for brunch and had their flautas, breakfast burrito with chorizo and egg, and the enfrijolados and everything was epic. Even our daughter's bean and cheese burrito was the most gourmet version of a kids burrito I've ever had. Cocktails were ok. Only real downside is it's a small spot so even though we had a reservation, we had to wait 20 mins for our table. Service was fine after that.
I read a lot about Muchas Gracias and was super excited to visit - it didn’t disappoint! I haven’t stopped thinking about the Queso Fundido con Mezcal, or the delicious carrot habanero hot sauce that it comes with ? we also has the Enfrijoladas and the apple cider pork carnitas, both of which were top notch. The pork had an insane amount of flavor! For drinks, we tried the michelada, the mezcal Negroni, the Bobby loves mangos, and the Muchas margarita. The Bobby loves mangos was the best, the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. For desert, we finished off with the flan - the blueberries, edible flowers, and the toasted sugary sauce all made for an unimaginably tasty end to a perfect meal. I cannot wait to come back again ❤️
The menu at Muchas Gracias is wildly delicious, and the staff goes above and beyond to ensure a terrific experience. We hosted a private event, and it was truly incredible. I went here and was disappointed, but tried again and was disappointed -- with quality and quantity. For a detailed review, go to John tanners bbq blog and search "Muchas"
One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been. Definitely I will come over again.
Beautifully crafted authentic Mexican cuisine. This hidden gem not only has an aesthetically pleasing desert feel but brings soul and craftsmanship to each dish while staying true to their roots
