Always fresh. Quality subs every time I go. They always put a smile on my face with how pleasant they are.
My absolute favorite sandwich place in DC (and maybe the world). The bread is so soft and wonderful. The meat is super fresh, and the toppings are great. Very affordable! I drive all the way across town quite often to visit!
It's a typical black owned business, I hate to say it! They have really bad customer service, when they pick up the phone they don't introduce the company, they just say hello like it's a house or a cell phone or something--- they're very entitled, the ingredients are very lackluster, the quality of the ingredients are not the best, they skimp the ingredients on the sandwiches; the only thing I can say good about them they make a neat sandwich it's not messy or anything like that, I'm really sick of foundational black American businesses doing the bare minimum and expecting a reward! Please step your game up.
First time patronizing Mother Ruckers and I ordered the (2) Marion Barry cold cut subs (number 23) for the wife and I and they were outstanding. Definitely going to patronize again moving forward. Great take-out spot if you want a change from eating greasy chicken, burgers and pizza. Visited on 01/07/2022
I’ve had Mother Ruckers before and it was very good; however, customer service is lacking at this establishment. Today is the second time I’ve placed a DoorDash order and it not be confirmed. I place my order well before the advertised closing time. When I try to call no one answers the phone. I called three times and did not receive an answer. You should consider removing your business from the online delivery services if you don’t plan to honor the orders.
Due to my wife and my debate on which sandwich shop in DC is the best, I’ll say this is one of the best sub shops in that city (My vote’s still with Mangialardo’s on the Hill). Regardless, Mother Rucker’s makes a mean sub. You can create it as you like but I recommend the straight up “motherload.” It’s huge and amazing!There are a few seats inside but most people get there’s to go. If the owner is there, say hi. She’s really friendly and very proud of the business she’s created (as she should be!).
Very disappointed with this place since they opened. Quality is good, but good luck getting them to confirm an order or pick up their phone. Half the time the shop is closed when it should be open.I will never understand companies that make it hard to give them money.
The wife loves the Pastrami with everything they suggest. My choice is always the 18 with everything the Turkey. They usually have the ability to melt the cheese which on makes the flavor more delicious. Compared to the lunch time only Rhode Island Avenue shop the heat makes all the difference. Better than Subway, Jimmy John's and all the rest. Get the sandwich cut into fourth so you can savor the taste and make the sandwich last for two days.
