Mita Cafe is one of my favorite spots to grab a bite to eat. I'm Ethiopian very picky about both Ethiopian food and sushi and this place consistently exceedsmy expectations! The sushi is delicious and fresh, Ethiopian food is flavorful and filling, and the sandwiches and panini offerings are perfect for a quick midday lunch. The Ethiopian tea is also fantastic and I never hesitate to grab a bite and sip when I'm missing my family, it just tastes like home. So glad to have Mita here!

What a neighborhood gem! Finally stopped in after wondering about this place for a while and I'm so glad we did! In case you're wondering about the mix of food, the owners are a Japanese sushi chef husband and an Ethiopian chef wife. The food is great! We tried the small sushi platter and it was wonderful (and plenty of food for two) , can't wait to go back to try the Ethiopian food and sandwiches. They also have amazing coffee, which isn't surprising given that Ethiopia is obsessed with great coffee. Try this place out, you won't be disappointed!!

This place is a gem. Second time in Mita Ethio-Japanese cafe and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. The Sushi is to die for. IT WAS FIRE!! The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again. They made us feel welcomed and gave us an amazing experience. Its is a quiet great place to have a chat and enjoy nice cup of coffee, but also amazing Ethiopian food.

So mad I’m just going to this place now. I’ve been missing out. The sushi is fresh and tasty. The owners are friendly and super generous. Love spots like these.

Hidden gem! Super affordable, but so good. Warm, cozy place on Kennedy St NW. Beautiful atmosphere, and GREAT food! Husband and wife owners so there’s a decent selection of ethiopian and japanese. You can get sushi, and also delicious panini’s, veggie platters, wraps and salads (including seaweed salad). And smoothies, though I haven’t tried. Its really chill and a great lunch or even dinner spot.

Great vibes, great value, and great food! Ordered a coffee and sushi platter and both were DELIGHTFUL. Plus the owner was very nice and kind. Will definitely be back!

What a nice discovery this was! I am from Maryland, and love coming to DC for this very reasons of discovering unique spots like Mita Cafe. The club sandwich is so delicious along with the Green/Matcha smoothie and Matcha latte. The sushi was absolutely delicious! Very fresh and tasty! Such a nice and cozy spot. I have so much more to explore here so I am definitely coming back with friends and family.

I just spent the afternoon reading at Mita and it might be my new favorite spot. The delicious Ethiopian veggie platter filled me all day and for dinner the Philadelphia and California rolls were fantastic. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The owners are so very kind and pleasant to talk with. Never thought I would be eating injera with chopsticks, but that's what Mita does to you! Thanks - be back soon =]

Excellent. We had their sushi and Ethiopian food, and both were wonderful! Don't underestimate the cafe by an unassuming location. The food is delicious and better than many Ethiopian and sushi places in DC. They take care with the food, and it shows. And, on top of that, the owners are also very kind.

Had the Ethiopian veggie platter, the sushi, a sandwich and the Ethiopian tea. Everything was fantastic. Great place to go and get food/drinks before heading to a local park or playground. The owners are very kind and want to share their cafe with the community!
