Food is okay. Although the online menu shows chicken wings, it turns out they don’t even sell chicken wings. Instead you get chicken strips, which were salty and tough. I had to drown them in hot sauce and still couldn’t finish them. The biscuits are good but I’ve ordered them twice and each time I felt sick afterwards. The hash browns (without cheese) could also stand to be crispier. They aren’t anything special but they get the job done. French toast is good, but one piece is enough for me. The chicken sausage is good…better than many others I’ve tried. Wouldn’t return unless Im struggling to find something else open nearby.
Cozy, clean, a little loud due to being right on a busy road, but great food and great staff. Friendly, helpful, and the food is amazing. We (4) shared the Fried Chicken Sandwich, Fried Fish Sandwich, Rumchata French Toast, and a Blueberry Cobbler Cheesecake dessert. Good soft drinks (Coca-Cola machine) and good coffee. This place is a gem.
I placed my order online and arrived about 5 minutes after it was scheduled to be ready. When I arrived it wasn’t ready. When I asked about how much longer, I was met with a nasty attitude about how they don’t know and refused to give me an estimate. I ended up waiting and additional 45 minutes to get my food and it wasn’t worth the wait.Chicken was very bland tasted like there was wasn’t any seasoning. They advertised wings but gave me tenders. I wouldn’t have minded but they were tough and needed sauce.Waffle was straight. Didn’t get the strawberries that were supposed to come with it thoughHoney biscuit was very good! I asked for extra honey butter but that was a no, of course.Overall, I won’t be back.
My food from Milk & Honey Cafe on H Street in Washington, DC was the BOMB! I’m talking about Super Freakin Delicious. The fish was fried to perfection, the cheesy grits were so darn good. And that honey butter biscuit was to die for! So darn good, and decent portion!! I had my food delivered, but now I can’t wait to actually dine in.
Great little spot for some delicious southern style food. This is a fast casual environment, but the food is so good that it tastes like anything but rushed. We ordered the salmon entree (sandwich that oddly is NOT on the sandwich menu) and the spicy chicken sandwich. The salmon was good, but the fried chicken was FANTASTIC, and possibly one of my favorites in the area. Both came with basic fries. The Sunday morning wait was on the l ok ger side at about 15 to 20 min, and the coffee good, but had grounds at the bottom of the cup. No of these were deal breakers, and would happily go back!
I love milk and honey & my go to is the smothered chicken & biscuit cause it never misses. Friend ordered the blackened salmon & grits. My only surprise is the size of this place. I've frequent the restaurant which has someone to seat you. Additionally somehow the neighboring restaurant photos are mixed in this review. Please note the word Cafe so think coffee shop so you'll have to find a seat for yourself or group.
Food was delicious. The space was not as expected. Google pics may be for a different location or venue. The photos I seen had a much larger space a bar etc. Even the outdoor photos of the building placed the restaurant in a different location than it actually was I'm not sure if this is due to it having moved locations. The actual venue has a fewer seats. I ordered to go due to the limited space. The staff was very professional and accommodating. I will definitely return but more than likely for a Togo order again.
The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming. The food selection was great and our meals came out quickly. We got the Rumchata French toast, which was fluffy and delicious, but the star was the shrimp and grits. I cannot sing enough praises for this dish. It was so creamy, so flavorful, and more than enough food to share or for leftovers. It was absolutely worth every penny. The staff were wonderful and we will definitely be returning.
This location is a lot smaller than the others and we were a bit confused regarding seating. We were told that seating was first come first served (self seating). We ordered our food and just waited for a table to open up. The food overall was really good. I would recommend a host for busy days like Sundays especially when most people are out for brunch.
I visited the location recently and tried the "Jumbo Smothered Chicken and Biscuits." When I say FLAVORFUL... this is an understatement. From the biscuits, to the eggs, chicken and added turkey sausage. Everything was seasoned well and tasted really good. The wait time was not bad considering that they prepare the food fresh. Really enjoyed the small establishment I visited on H Street. 10/10 would go again.
