I just discovered this bakery today, tucked away off of 14th street and since I was already nearby, I figured that I would give it a try. The place seems small from the outside, but it's not. Upon walking in, I was able to see a large variety of pastry items,, as well as, table seating.i was greeted by an older gentleman, probably the Owner who pointed out their freshly made conchas. It had been a minute since I had a concha, so I decided to go for it. That along with a canned come came out to be about $3.00. After the first bite of the concha, I knew this guy was right. It was still warm like it had just come out of the oven. What I liked even more about his place was the nice outdoor seating. This place is as Mexican as it gets and I love it!
I think these are the best tacos in DC. Seems like a lot of people in the reviews don't like the service but its an OG mexican joint that takes a few min to prep your fresh food. Seriously, everyone was so kind, but could only speak Spanish. Like if the woman taking your order cant speak a lick of english and has a baby swaddled on her back in the traditional way, you know it's ?. Use google translate to order in spanish yall.
Do not eat here if you are not mexican. They seem to want to cater to their people more than any other race. I asked for a flour quesadilla and got corn. I told them twice I wanted flour and they start putting ochra in it after it got sent back.Meaning they will make your food unpleasant if you are not one of their people. Definitely a neighborhood family spot, so they want to keep it like that.
Excellent authentic Mexican food. I give them 10 out of 10!!! The parking sucks but I think that's the same all around the city. Huevos a la Mexicana damn good!!!
Scrumptious and authentic latin american food for a very reasonable price and generous portions. I have yet to try the baked goods but they look delectable.
Not long ago I came to this place to check it out. Came in and went out after 2 minutes. There was a cashier lady who asked me to leave just because I was looking and not planning to buy yet. They apparently are good at hiring anyone to yell at customers to leave. Embarrassing enough to have people look at you like you did something wrong. Won't be interested in coming here whatsoever now.
I don’t usually like to talk bad about food places but this people has to learn how to read instructions they always sends me the entire order wrong I’m not asking for free food I’m paying for that so I expecting they send the right thing ??
