I really enjoyed the ramen - you can tell they homemade the broth from scratch and you can really taste all the umami flavor released from bones after getting boiled for long hours. There were not many options on the menu but they really specialized in making each single one of the ramen on the menu. We got the triple treat and spicy tonkotsu, and the broth was delicious and rich, but not greasy. My bf literally finished all the broth for the tonkotsu. The chicken karaage was also very juicy and well-seasoned, paired well with their yuzu mayo.
Saw that this place was on the new Michelin DC Guide so we had to check it out. First of all this is probably one of the best ramens in the US let alone DC/MD/VA. The broth is very creamy and rich, the chashu had an amazing smokiness to it, and the noodles were my favorite thin rather than too thick. Service was great, just know like in Japan, it's a place to eat and leave as they only have a 1hr dining limit which is more than enough to eat and digest. The only downside is the location and trying to find parking. Other than that one of my favorite ramens in the US and can contend with ramen I've had in Japan.
I was so excited to try this resturant after waiting on the list for 1.5 hours! I can definitely tell you it was worth it. We started off with the chicken karaage with the Yuzu Mayo. The texture was so crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I thoroughly enjoyed it and saved some for my Ramen as well!I ordered the Sunset Shoyu and the broth was just so flavorful! I finished the entire serving in one time because it did not disappoint. My sister order the Truffle Shoyu and My God! What a unique flavor! She found it a little bland to her taste but the broth was richly flavored.I have been trying to get into this place for a year now and I am so glad I got a chance. They have a selective menu (however, accommodating to vegans) but the taste and quality is TOP Notch! Please get on the waitlist (online) and try this spot!Highly recommended!Edit: You can also order takeout if seating is unavailable.
Definitely a top ramen spot in the city. Incredibly flavorful broths with super delicious meat preparation in every bowl. You can watch them hand make all the noodles and their efforts definitely pay off.Doesn’t seem like you can really go wrong with anything on the menu which is kept simple but really well executed. This place is small but constantly packed and does not take reservations as far as I know. Just a virtual waitlist on Yelp.
Many of my friends have raved about this place so my husband and I finally checked it out. I got the spicy tonkotsu and my husband got the triple threat. I will say, the triple threat’s broth tasted AMAZING. We have never had a comparable brother. The flavor was really great. My spicy tonkotsu was good too. I think what I like about this place is that the broths tend to be lighter and less salty (which is always my complaint about other ramen spots because they tend to be thicker / heavier and saltier than I’d like). The noodle texture was also great—there’s a very pleasant bite to it. I do wish the restaurant has more variety on their menu (though to be fair, it said 3 menu items were sold out when we went) and I also wish there would be a tad bit more toppings on them. But overall, very solid spot and extremely friendly staff. We’ll definitely be back!
First time visiting: The service and food were amazing. Definitely recommend the Karaage (chicken)! It's crispy, super tender and juicy; has really good flavor. We had the regular tonkotsu & triple threat which were good as well. Tonkotsu has a clean flavoring to it and thr triple threat is more on the flavorful side. The eggs in them are delicious. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good ramen place.
Hands down the best broth in DC. Super rich and creamy. The meat is perfectly cooked to melt in your mouth. Perfect for a cold day. We usually order online and pick up, they are very punctual and I have never had to wait for my food.
Wow! Great staff, lovely atmosphere, and delicious food. I strongly recommend the Japanese fried chicken for an appetizer—the pairing with the yuzu ponzu was fantastic. I really enjoyed my truffle ramen. I can’t wait to go back and try more. So happy this is so close by!
This local ramen spot is awesome! All of the broths are incredibly complex tasting, so well seasoned, and just a joy. The Chashu is the best I've ever had, and the noodles are fantastic. This restaurant is amazing to have in the Park View/Petworth neighborhood and is worth visiting!!
awesome place, ramen is so good! definitely try donkatsu ramen (second pic). broth is amazing!! I love how they do everything from scratch.
