Ordered the beef and broccoli and it was really bad. The “beef” was chewy and hard to get down I’m really not sure if it was actual beef so that’s concerning. Wouldn’t order that particular meal again

They changed their amazing sesame tvp - if you're like us and you used to order it once a week, on Tuesday's or Thursday's, like clockwork, be warned. It's no where near as good as the original. Whoever complained and said it was too crunchy originally, you're dead wrong and now we get some-how too spicy and also flavorless fake-meat morsels. ):

Always a hit or miss with the taste of the food. I have a favorite dish I get and lately they have not executed it how I know they can

Seems to be family-owned, but lacks the quiet delicacy of your typical family-owned small Chinese. For its location, competing with a host of other venues, the quality is subpar, although it arrives fast and the two owners are friendly. Please note that the pictures shared inside their restaurant and on the menu might differ from what you receive. For DC, it is not overpriced, and the lunch special for overall value (as long as your standards aren't high) competes fairly against Wawa and Panera Bread. Long hours so a convenient place for getting a quick meal, but you won't be coming here very frequently.

Came to this place after going somewhere else with a much higher rating disappointedly. Vegetable Spring/Egg Roll hits the Spot. The sauce that comes with the vegetable dumplings taste wonderful.

Great prices, fast take-out service, and really great food!

plain and simple, this honestly might’ve been the worst chinese takeout ive ever had in my entire life.. its also ridiculously overpriced lol

Tasty spare ribs, thank you!

The Mayflower restaurant is a tiny, carryout-only hole in the wall dedicated to serving Tenleytown all the standard Americanized Chinese food classics one could ever desire. A word of advice: the appetizer section is the best part of the menu. For example, the vegetable spring rolls are absolutely great. At a price of only $3.50 for two, I highly recommend this item. Similar story with the steamed dumplings; they are fantastically moist and generally very good. But one cannot live on apps alone. The Mongolian beef entree comes marinated in a sweet yet rich and decedent sauce, complemented by a cardboard carton of white rice. Portions here (including even the so-called "small" sizes) are pretty generous. I tried the Kung Po scallops, which consist mainly of diced carrots and celery. The seafood itself wasn't bad, but not spectacular in either freshness or quantity. I was expecting a spicy, flavorful seasoning on this dish, but found it a bit plain instead. Prices are not too high here, but not a bargain either (with the exception of the lunch deals). Food sometimes takes a while to come out of the kitchen, so I advise ordering ahead of time online for pickup. While the Mayflower gets some menu items right, I would recommend other Asian restaurants nearby much more.

The delivery guys are honest.
