Food was good, service was okay, but the temperature inside was very hot. Patrons were using menus to fan themselves. Made the experience less pleasant.

I took my mother and sis in law. This was their first time at any Matchbox. You guys made a great lasting impression. The food was delicious and the service was great. Thank you

Nice friendly service and delicious tasting menu items. I enjoyed my waiter he was attentive to our needs and didn’t have a long wait time with our order either.

Food was good. Service not so much. cool hangout spot.

Great salad and good pizza. Servers were great. Restaurant seems to be about half full at lunch. All good but when you walk in there is that odd smell of "a cleaning cloth that has mildew which someone tried to coverup with Clorox" smell. It was faint and it went away quickly - but Matchbox you can do better.

Anniversary with my husband was excellent.

Dinner at matchbox (Capitol Hill location) was very laid back and comfortable. The food was good. Pizzas are good size and flavorful. Gluten free pizza options were available, though the gluten free crusts were very bland. The house specialty baby backs ribs have a barbecue sauce that is fantastic, but the ribs could have been a little more tender, but were still very enjoyable. The cornbread was excellent! Although not very busy, the service was a little cold and inattentive which seemed out of place with the surroundings. Service was still acceptable, but could definitely improve. Staff were all unmasked. No qualms about recommending matchbox for a casual dinner. No parking. We walked there through a beautiful neighborhood. Skip dessert and try Jeni’s ice cream across 8th street.

Went for brunch on Saturday right around opening time. Had a reservation for three (including a toddler) but was told we couldn’t have a booth because of the size of our party. Instead we were offered a high top table in the bar area, red flag…we had a toddler. We said that wouldn’t work because we needed a high chair and were instead walked to a table in the main dining room.In the 10 minutes we waited to be greeted, another couple with a reservation walked in and requested a booth. They were told no by the host but their server allowed them to move to the booth anyway. He then took their order and placed it before we we had even seen our server. When I asked him if he could grab our server he said “bare with us” and went to serve his people instead of grabbing our server. It was early so there were maybe five tables, not busy at all.On top of the awful service, they’ve clearly changed a lot with their menu too. The pepperoni pizza is different, with thinner cheaper cuts of meat. Their brunch has also changed from bottomless food brunch to “choose two items max”. Their minestrone soup only had tomatoes, no other vegetables, which wasn’t the case last time we dined here.Overall it was a terrible experience and we won’t be back. There are a lot of restaurants on this strip and the price of this one isn’t worth the low quality food and service you’d get. You’re better off at Ted’s for American style cuisine.

This restaurant was CLOSED when we arrived. INGO NOT CURRENT ON open table!

Visiting from Texas and randomly chose Matchbox for dinner. Fantastic food and great service.
