Excellent, affordable Indian food. They have options for vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters. The customer service is excellent. The gentleman at the cashier offered great suggestions, so don’t hesitate to ask for advice. We had one fish plate, one fish appetizer, and several veggie sides. Total cost with mango lassie was about $50.

Great food, great ambiance in an affordable family owned restaurant. I ordered the non veg thali that comes with 2 non-veg and 3 veg items plus a traditional indian roti. And the food was undoubtedly delicious.

What a rip off! We ordered on Uber Eats and paid over 70 dollars for inedible, dry roti, boring dal, and tiny serving sizes. Two different dishes tasted exactly the same. Terrible!

Masala story catered for our Mehndi party, as well as portions of the wedding reception. The food as always was delicious, plentiful and loved by all. I would definitely use their food services for future events. Thank you Masala story Team!

Great food and service! Staff was very helpful in making recommendations for me due to egg and gluten allergies. Amazing vegetarian options. Great vibe and full bar. Will most certainly be back!!!

Service on the table is not provided. You collect your own water. Dispose and clean the table after eating. Food is given in take away boxes. You can eat or take. No dine in feeling.

Delicious Indian food! Huge number of options, including meat, vegetarian, and vegan. Had the samosa chaat, lamb korma, and the a couple vegetable dishes (eggplant and some other veg because the okra wasn't ready yet). Everything was excellent and I can't wait to go back and try more. Also, the owner was very kind and welcoming - and his son is the chef, super cool!

We've been here several times over the years since it opened and enjoyed the food. The last time we visited, however, the food was disappointingly average and prices for portion sizes were ridiculous. For example, a main dish cost $16 and we got four 2" pieces of hacked bone-in chicken in a 12oz container of bland curry (accompanied by a clamshell with a 1" layer of rice and a dribble of channa masala on top). The "veg platter" is also a ripoff at $14 for two 8oz containers and the most bland and insipid dal makhani I have ever tasted (we also got inexplicably up-charged $2). Bread was also surprisingly stingy, as the naan was barely bigger than the size of my (average-sized) hand. The brightest spot was the biryani, but only because it was just fine and not as disappointing as the other dishes. From a public health standpoint I was also disappointed that one of the staff people was inside and sitting on the couch without a mask in sight (he was not eating).

The people were friendly and the food was tasty, but I honestly think that this place is extremely overpriced. The naan was lacking butter, the rice was bland, and the portions were TINY. I ordered over the phone and had looked up the menu online. I guess the menu was from a different year, because when I went to pick up my food and was told the total, the prices had gone up about $3-4 per item. Entrees were about $17 instead of $12 or $13. I figured that wouldn’t be a huge deal, because at every Indian restaurant I’ve ever eaten at I always come home with massive leftovers. Unfortunately, that was not the case here, and the food was average and unfortunately did not justify the price or portion. I’m also aware that this restaurant is in DC, which is a place known to have fairly pricey restaurants. However, my favorite Indian restaurant all time is in Bethesda, Maryland, which has similarly expensive restaurants, except that Indian restaurant has outstanding quality food and huge portions. I was also not given the second order of samosas I had placed, which was unfortunate, but really not the reason for my review. I just don’t think that the quality or portions come close to justify the price they charge. I was astonished when my to-go order for 4 people came to over $100, not including the tip.
