Never prepay your food. They took my money but 45 minutes later still haven’t received my chicken gyro. Supposedly the kitchen printer was out of paper. Huh??

Don't waste your time or money. There is absolutely nothing interesting or "revolutionary" about this place. No invigorating interior, no communal vibe, sad drink selection. I thought the Greek food sounded decent (despite Marx being German), but the salmon pasta in particular was basically a pile of tasteless buttered noodles with a few flakes of salmon.
Good food at a reasonable price. I had the hummus and pita which was really good for a happy hour appetizer! The service was pretty quick. I really enjoyed the vibe inside and i’ll probably try the bar inside next time.
Would STRONGLY recommend this bar both for the drinks and food. I've ordered here about 5-6 times (both beer and late night fare). The menu offerings - which include standard European fare such as calamari, sauteed fish with boiled vegetables, and lemon soup - were of the quality you'd expect from a 4-star restaurant or esteemed private chef. Marx Cafe also offers an expansive choice of alcohol, including multiple on tap beers. Its open late and offers an array of sporting events on large-screen TVs on either end of the bar. Its the perfect place to watch West coast or light night NBA and NFL games!
The place has some of the best food, and live acts in the neighborhood. Manny the server is so nice. Going back when I'm in the DC area again.

Food's not bad, but picking up your takeout order is not COVID safe at all. Wish they had a window and/or a place to wait outside.
