We were a party of 4, going out to celebrate a graduation. We pre-paid the 400 dollars required for 7PM reservation for a party of 4. Let’s start with not being seated in the main dining room. Instead we were seated in the bar area at the table nearest to the restrooms, even though the restaurant was empty and remained empty throughout our entire 3 hour meal ordeal. We were treated like second class citizens. Not prioritize throughout our meal. We had to be animated and vocal to get the attention of the wait staff. Our expectation for a Michelin starred restaurant, is to receive a superb meal with service to match. Given that we ordered the 6 course meal, we expected the delivery of the courses to be well orchestrated for a satisfying meal. Instead we waited 30 or more minutes for the early courses, only when closing time approached, did the wait between courses reduced to be a little less than 30 minutes. If you are going to stretch out each course, then there should be offerings to cleanse the palate, none was offered. Bread was not offered throughout the meal, even though some of the courses required bread to get the most out of the dish. Needless to say for a $200.00 per plate dinner, it was a very disappointing meal. My advice to anyone that will patron this establishment, be prepared to be underwhelmed. Would not recommend.

We were part of a group that dined in the separate group dining room. The food was fabulous, and the service was on point. I liked being able to have a conversation without having to strain to hear or shout to be heard. My Sound Print dB check showed a quiet 65 to 70 dB range. The piano is in the bar area, so it was pleasant and unobtrusive background music.

OK, so its expensive but, fine dining seems to be thin on the ground over the pond. We booked a table for a Sunday night. We were surprised to share the restaurant with 5 more diners all evening. This didn't detract from a great foodie experience. Its probably best summed up by saying the menu comprises of around 12 small sharing plates that are plated beautifully. All the dishes were freshly prepared and flavoursome. Generally a million miles from run of the mill American fried food. Service was very professional and friendly. All the staff wore smiles. The wine by the glass selection was very impressive. It would be very easy to run up a bill of 500 dollars for two people depending on how many courses you select. However, it was a welcome change and we would return.

Decent place for traditional high end cooking. Was a bit dissapointing by the cheese plate which took an entire of my 1/6 course (it was delicious but holy they really skimped on the jam and cheese). Good food but i dont see myself returning to it in the future.

This is the best dining experience! The food is beyond expectations! The chef is very polite and beyond talented! It was a privilege to meet him! Just amazing...my favorite in this country!

I think we all know the Star this place really deserved to have been recognized for….dare I say the “M” word? ….I digress!Having been a Weidamaier employee myself, it was well known that Marcel’s was considered the flagship restaurant- the crown jewel if you will- within the RW Restaurant Group portfolio.I was ecstatic to attend a Champagne Wine Dinner there. Each course built like the Narrative of a gripping Novel. From Lobster Bisque to Scallops, Poached Bass, and Squab (that being my favorite)….leading to a Passion Fruit Pot au Crème for dessert! So many flavors and textures in perfect harmony; it was truly an experience I will never forget! If you should encounter Chef Robert Weidmaier, you will be entertained by a boisterous and charismatic individual. I believe this translates into the food and ambience! The service was impeccable- each individual’s timing so perfect it was almost ahead of personal intuition!Thank you to everyone at Marcel’s who made for such a spectacular experience! Looking forward to the next visit!

6 course chef tasting menu, with chef's wine pairing. Exceptional meal, flavor profiles so clean and delicious. Starting with the mushroom cigar, lobster bisque, foi gras terrine, venison and raspberry salted caramel dessert and the chocolate dessert. Portion sizes were perfect, serving temperature for wines superb. Milos, thank you so much for a memorable evening.

While visiting DC we came here with my husband and had the most wonderful experience! Everyone was so nice and kind and the service was fantastic!!! We got the chef’s choice 5 course meal and they did not disappoint. Every course was a celebration of flavors and tasted amazing! Worth every penny and if we come to DC again we will definitely come back!

Disgusting service and respect from the managerial staff. To think that you can go to a well respected restaurant and they have managers Brittany and her co-manager who inept at providing a professional and pleasing experience for their customers; we asked the women who approached the pianist to not disturb him while he was playing a requested song. She was very rude and unprofessional. Her so called manager was of no help in resolving an issue that would could have been best if he had apologized for her actions and remarks. He felt that I insulted him. If they were working for me I would have fired them on the spot. This was my friends first experience at this restaurant and the experience was terrible. I can’t imagine paying $140 for 2 drinks each, appetizers and one desert and getting treated like that. Terrible service and lack of professionalism. I hope they improve their training for their employees.

Perfect restaurant for our 7 year anniversary. The food and drinks were amazing. Loved the atmosphere.
