I had high expectations ordering from Little Serow, and my expectations were met! Tried a couple items— the wings and dry chicken curry, both had complex flavors and were quite unique! I can’t wait for the restaurant to open up for in-person dining to try out some more cool things.
I’m not surprising anyone by giving Little Serow five stars, but the food is just excellent (get the crispy rice salad). Unlike other great restaurants, the food from here makes for great takeout. It has kept us going through the pandemic
This is one of these restaurants that's on the Best of DC list year after year and where we'd always wanted to go but somehow never made it. There's really no excuse except that it's a tiny basement place, doesn't take reservations so there's always a likelihood you might have to wait in line in order to dine - for a prefix dinner at over $100 for two and having to wait in line just might not be something everyone would find appealing. However, now as a result of the pandemic, it's become takeout only, plus in addition to the prefix menu for two, there are also a number of a la carte options which I don't think was available before. Online ordering is very easy, the website works well. Pick up smooth as well - they have a little table set up outside and one of the staff will go inside to bring the order out to you. This time we tried the Mekong whiskey pork ribs, curry shrimp, and the minced cat fish with cabbage (lettuce might work better however). This is definitely not your average Thai food. Everything is delicious and full of interesting flavors and spices. Just a bit pricey, small to average portions but well worth the splurge.
My wife and I celebrated our 5th anniversary by ordering Little Serow to go! It was simply superb; we enjoy all the dishes, the Christmas Ale, and the Riesling. We shared everything and did kind of our tasting menu. It was our first time it was highly recommended, and it didn't disappoint.
Food is delicious and unique. Seriously, everything is amazing. May be a bit too hot for those who can't take spice but there's always sweet rice milk to wash the fire down. It was really hard to have the time to go pre-pandemic because they didn't take reservations and I just did not have time to kill waiting in line for hours so this take out option is great.
One of the best thai food that i ever tasted. Service is also very pleasant.
We ordered takeout from its limited menu as it is almost impossible to get a table without a long wait. Perhaps their takeout food is not up to the quality of its eat-in food (which I doubt) but we were deeply disappointed in all but the starter glass noodle salad (which was excellent). In addition to the salad we ordered the pork ribs, chicken laap, and the mushroom stir-fry. The ribs were very fatty and the chicken and mushroom dishes were too salty - so much so that the mushroom dish was inedible. We do not intend to patronize Little Serow ever. For Thai cuisine we are quite happy with Baan Siam.
I spent 2 months living in Thailand and this is as authentic as it comes. Easily one of the best Thai spots in the city. Several set courses that get increasingly more spicy but nothing overwhelming. Be prepared to get there early as seating fills up very quick. 12/10 would recommend
We enjoy to go out. Last night we visited this fine place which friends told us about. We passed a lovely time there with high-qulity cooking and a professional stuff and a great cuisine. We put this venue in our list and we shall certainly come back very soon. We warmly recommend.
Wow! The food packs a flavor punch. The night I was there the spiciness increased throughout until the penultimate dish. However, it was so perfect with spice and flavor and temperature that it didn't kill the taste buds. So much so that the last menu dish had flavor and no spice. And the dessert surprise was immaculately rich even though just a single bite... An amuse bouche :)
