This place is a gem. The food, service, and drinks are reliably good and so is the price. The only complaint I have is their salsa varies in how good it is. It's never awful, but it's just not great sometimes. Don't let that spoil the rest of the meal -- it's otherwise great! Also they are dog friendly!
The most disgusting soup they could cook.on the menu it says Chicken tortilla soup, it is actually water with cauliflower heads, carrot and zucchini pieces and a whole tortilla on top.I do not recommend it to those who really know how to eat Mexican food.
Not a fan yet. I only got take out of nachos and chips and salsa so I don't think I can give a full review but the experience I had did not make me want to return. The other patrons seemed pleasant a d it was a beautiful day so that helped but, the staff seemed like it was a chore to take your order and provide service. No smiles, no pleasantries. Nothing, the feel was just Blah! Maybe I caught them on the wrong day??? The tortillas were good! The salsa is okay but was not spicy. The cheese on the nachos was not good. The prices were EXELLENT!!! I will try once again.
The staff treats you like family and the food is delicious. The Las Placitas sampler, fajitas, enchiladas and nachos are some of our favorites. But the meal is not complete without a pitcher of margaritas or sangria!
food is Amazing love this place so friendly and nice
Love this place food is amazing and service is fantastic
What a wonderful find! I was walking back from a hike and found this place. Super nice service and delicious food! I ordered chicken nachos and queso. Both excellent and I would order again. Also came with chips and salsa. The chips are those yummy thick chips and the salsa fresh. Got my food togo but they have a cute indoor/outdoor space with frozen margaritas and $1 can cokes. Prices very reasonable. Will be back!!
I wish I could give this place negative stars! The rice was unseasoned. The black beans not picture were also bland. Everything was pretty much lacking flavor. I am very disappointed with their food. Would not recommend. Save your money and eat somewhere else!
One of my favorite spots in the city! I discovered this place through a student whose family owns it. This was 5 years ago and they provided lunch for the staff. I've been coming here ever since. Good food, great service, friendly staff.
Tasty food with large portions and reasonably priced. With that said, the chips were somewhat tough. And while the salsa was good, albeit somewhat watery, the guac was more like just chopped avocado with some onion; very little garlic or lime - or salt. Okay, but not worth the rather high price.Everything else was fantastic, even several days later when I ate them as leftovers. I had El Tipico - chicken tamal, pupusa, sweet plantain, rice, black beans, and yucca - while hubby had the Pollo Ranchero, a half chicken (so tender it was almost falling off the bone) covered in veggies and served with rice and black beans. Hubby needed some hot sauce for added flavor as he pronounced it a bit bland.Reasonable prices and good service as well, with servers patient with my questionable Spanish.
