I love this location. On a side street. There are only a few tables. Food great.

Dropped in for dinner on a whim and am so glad we did! This small space packs a ton of flavor. Every dish, from the appetizers to the meals to the drinks, was delicious and comforting. There were only about four groups of tables, so getting there at an off-peak time is probably best. We would love to come back and try even more of the menu!

If you like being rolled eyes by rude server, you are welcome to be here :)I thought I was the only one experiencing unreasonable extra charges, but I found that as others in the comments have mentioned, the bills end up with extra unknown charges. When I asked the waitress to check the bill, what I got was that she rudely bullied the guest with rolling her eyes! !Regardless of the food in this restaurant , such an attitude makes it feel like everything is awful !!

Food is amazing but there's only 6 or 7 indoor tables so you likely might not get a spot during dinner rush.

Avoid This Place! 来ないでください!绝对别来!Stale seaweed, packaged beef for gyudon, packaged curry and frozen pre made pork for a Katsu curry. This is not a restaurant! It is a frozen food assembly line with a server who harbors resentment against her customers. Not every Japanese restaurant with Japanese servers & cooks serve authentic and quality driven food.Don’t come unless you are totally fine with sub quality sushi and prepackaged food at 300% markup.

Avoid. Not a good atmosphere. They'll bully you for more tip then change your receipt after you leave and charge you a few $s extra. Had to do a charge back with the bank. It's common practice here. Look at other reviews under 'tip'. Go somewhere else, lots of amazing Japanese restaurants in the city that don't lie and steal.

I really like this store. As a growing up Taiwanese which under heavy influence of Japanese culture., I couldn’t really find an authentic Japanese restaurant in the West End/ Foggy Bottom/ Georgetown of DC. And to my very surprise, this small and cozy store served the most authentic Tokyo style food I have experienced in downtown DC, and with a reasonable price standing in the Georgetown area. The chef and the owner of the restaurant seems the people following traditional Japanese doctrine. Quiet but very polite. They might be seen a bit indifferent to the customers at the beginning, but that is the typical way of the restaurant business in the Asian culture indicating the food are great. Very recommend the nigiri sushi and the ramen. Sadly they didn’t offer Japanese hamburger anymore, otherwise that was my favorite dishes in the store.

Excellent sushi and ramen, simply prepared and exceptionally flavorful. (Tobiko, mackerel, and eel all outstanding in different ways!) Distinctive takoyaki was more of a dumpling than a croquette. Ramen wasn’t overdone like it is in so many places—it was more like a neighborhood meal in Japan. The prices and atmosphere made it cozy and low-stress in a way that made the quality even more impressive. We finished with a slice of green tea cheesecake and left very happy. Will be back, and often!

Reasonable prices and delicious ramen. The sushi that another table ordered looked good, and I'll definitely come back to try it. Minus one star for the attitude from the waitress. I asked for a cup of tap water, and she brought out ice water. When I asked if I could have water without ice, she rolled her eyes and let out a huge sigh as though I was being really difficult. Later when she brought food out to us and we asked for soy sauce, she frowned and looked very irritated. There was only one other couple seated in the restaurant, and they had already been served, so it's not like they were super busy and our small requests were an impost to serving other customers.

The prices are very reasonable and the food was good. Service was great too, as I think our server was one of the owners. I recommend the agedashi tofu and the ramen!
