Food was ok not something extraordinary papri chat was different and nice .. tea was totally waste of money specially being an Indian resturant tea was English tea with extremely cold milk on side .. all the best to the owner and I hope they work on tea pakoras etc ..
Food was quite delicious, the cook was very engaging concerning the dishes he made and our appeal for it. Will definitely return and also recommend
We chose to eat outside where they have a little area set up as a patio. The food was the best I have had in a very long time. We had chicken Tandoori, curry and Tikka, and they were all excellent. I don't know how they get the chicken so tender, it almost melted in my mouth! The rice and Naan bread were great too. Our server was wonderful. I will definitely be back!!
A real hidden jem.1. Kofta Curry2. Fish Curry3. Lamp Korma (Boneless)4. Papri Chaat5. BhelLoved the entire experience at Jyoti. We came for their Thali but it had a 45 mins waiting. So call them before you come for Thali. All in all an authentic Indian cuisine.
Thali is good with multiple curries..But it won’t be like South Indian. Location is good as it’s nearby to all DC attractions.
The food is usually quite decent. The Mali Kafta is my favorite dish from here and definitely worth trying. Every other entree that I’ve tried has been pretty good, but the chicken vindaloo was a little disappointing. Its spiciness overpowers all other flavors. The variety of naans that I’ve tried and samosas are all ok, but nothing to rave about. The Bhel Puri is freaking amazing though! I know I gave this place 3 stars, but this is my goto Indian restaurant in the area. I’ve just had such delicious Indian food in other cities, that Jyoti can’t compare to them. Still, it’s definitely worth trying!
