Probably the best taco place I've gone to. I had their tacos de lengua and they were full of flavor. Their sauces were great as well not water downed and had a nice kick to them. I would definitely recommend this spot.
My husband and I really enjoyed our food. Very large portion we loved our food!
The food was amazing and the staff was super friendly. This place is a must try and believe when I say the tacos are the best I've ever had.
Great food. Made fresh to order. AWESOME customer service. And it was clean. I'll be back next time I'm in DC.
I had a great first experience here! Ordered chips with guac & salsa, birria tacos (beef), and al pastor tacos. Everything was delicious and flavorful. I cannot wait to come back and try more things!
Not gonna lie is bomb went with my friend today great service and let’s not about the food cause it’s fire
This place was beyond authentic and amazing!!! If you know what’s good for you, eat here and you’ll leave still thinking about how good your food was!
Located along Georgia Avenue N.W. in Brightwood is a family-owned restaurant called J & J Mex-Taqueria. With tie-tied floors, the menu is full of tacos, burritos and other Mexican favorites. I went for lunch on a Wednesday in December 2021. Here's my experience:1) Food: They serve breakfast (sandwiches and tacos), lunch and dinner. If you go for lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong on any of their tacos. A single taco ranges between $3.25 and $4 and comes in corn or flour tortillas. I ordered three chorizo tacos on flour tortillas Mexican style (onions and cilantro) and it filled me up. They were full of flavor so much that they didn't need salsa. (They have medium and hot salsa in case you want it.)2) Service: It's quick and friendly. Once I downed my three tacos, one of the workers laughed that I must have enjoyed it because I ate them so fast. Yes, it's true. They were soooo good.3) Space: It's a small space with colorful walls, floor and art on its walls. A public restroom is in the way back. It's kept clean and tables are frequently wiped down.4) Location: It's on a strip with plenty of other food options, but J&J is one of he best!5) Parking: It can be harder to find along busy George Avenue NW, but I found easy street parking a few blocks away at 9th and Sheridan Ave NW.Open daily, except for Sunday, it's a worthy contender for a go-to lunch or dinner spot.
The Birria Tacos are full of flavor here. Staff is friendly and it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. Don't forget to get an Horchata while you're here
One of the best mexican eatery Ive had in a while since moving to the DC area. Tried a few and this one is definitely top of the list. The food was flavorful, the portion size more than I expected, and all at a great rate. The tradeoff is the ambience if you seek a romantic dinner, but the quality of the food will make one forget all about that....
