Nice Place - Good Food & Drinks
Very disappointed with the service at Ivy City. I went to an event and ordered the $15 calamari from their menu, which totaled $24 with the tax and automatic gratuity. It was the skimpiest, driest calamari I have ever had! I expressed my frustration to the bartender, who knew, based on the looks of the calamari, that it was a very tiny amount and didn't look appetizing. He then went to get me another order and after waiting 15 additional minutes it came out the same. There was more batter than calamari. Very dry and bland. The bartender got the manager Peter who came out and basically said that’s how it comes. I told him I didn’t want it, he took it and never came back. Left no direction on what to do with the bill and didn’t offer anything different. My friend also ordered the chicken sandwich which tasted like it was fried in fish oil. It literally tasted like cat fish. We were told they don't mix chicken and fish, but something wasn't right because all 3 of my friends said it tasted like fish. So maybe it was mistakenly fried in fish oil, or the oil was very old, but we sent it back from some of their grilled wings which were also very dry and bland. One star because the bartender was nice!
The food was good and the vibe was wonderful. Everyone was happy to be there.
Holy smokes. The crab cake... So insanely delicious. By far the best I've ever had. Good cocktail options and the food tastes so fresh.Had the crab cakes (obviously) with brussel sprouts (also the best!) And the fish sandwich with blue catfish, so so good. Even the french fries tasted fresh! Can't go wrong here. Unless you don't even come and then you're doing life very wrong.PS our server William was so attentive and caring and deserves all the raises #williamformanager
Bad service. Ordered a pizza without cheese because of being lactose intolerant and received a pizza with cheese. Returned the pizza and waited an hour for a new pizza to arrive that never did. Called the restaurant to ask what happened and was told they don’t make pizzas without cheese…Thanks for never letting us know. Waiting on refund.
Unfortunately, as much as I wanted to love this place, I couldn't. The food had no seasoning and the drinks were blah. The outside environment has a great vibe! But, everything else was wayyyyy below standards.I wouldn't recommend this place.
Super friendly server great music nice atmosphere salmon was cooked to perfection. I really didn’t care for the potatoes but the asparagus was amazing presentation was everything food and drinks came out fast on time & super HOT and exactly how we ordered themThanks Gator for the recommendation also Ivy city market has Maryland blue crab ask for Gator
I enjoy this place after work. I only sit at the bar so I'm not sure how the waiters are but the bartenders are great. The food is always good. I usually get the fried shrimp, crab cake sandwich or fish tacos. My coworkers enjoy the spot too.
Our lunch date was a good date. The ambiance of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Finding a parking spot took a couple of trips around the block and a couple of blocks away. Which was great for walking back to after the meal we'd consumed. The food and service was excellent, we're already planning our next lunch date to try the pizza.
Delicious! Had a reservation but it didn't seem necessary although ymmv. Service was quick and friendly I had the smoked Hot Turkey breast sandwich - pictured - and my wife had the smash burger - not pictured. Both were presented excellently on arrival and were scrumptious. We also ordered the smokehouse fish board - 5 of their s oked fish dishes, 2 bagles, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, capers, cream cheese spread- for a snack after the Dropkick Murphy's show which was perfect for a late night treat. Prices were nominal and fair for the DC area - we spent about $75 US. I definitely recommend.
