The customer service is EXCELLENT. I mistakenly did pick up instead of delivery and didn’t have a way of getting my food but one of their servers, Antoine, was GENEROUS AND GRACIOUS enough to deliver my food after he had completed his shift. I am so grateful for this amazing customer service. I cannot praise him or this restaurant enough. This was so kind. And of course the food is very good. Thank you thank you!!!!

Been coming here for about a year now and I can say I have never had a bad experience the food is excellent I highly recommend the brunch and definitely the fried chicken meal you won’t be disappointed
The food is always great! I’ve tried several dishes and have not been disappointed. This is my go-to spot when I’m craving a home cooked meal! My favorite is the Wing dinner with potato salad and cabbage!
Listen to me! .......Please...if you are looking for hot, fresh, well seasoned food, decent portion sizes, attentive and polite staff and great atmosphere, then you must go to the Hitching Post. You will not be disappointed.My mom, daughter and I were in DC for the day, we wanted some good soul food...and our expectations were exceeded to the umpth degree,The catfish was delicious (in my Tommy Davidson -Martin show voice). Nothing was over seasoned or too salty, the fish was fried to perfection, mac and cheese was flavorful and rich, the greens were succulent. We cleaned our plates!My only criticism would be, if I can even truly call it that is, they do not have yams on the menu. In my humble opinion, yams are the quintessential component of soul food. Please add yams to the menu!Anytime I'm back in DC, this will be my spot!
They food is amazing I came here when I was pregnant with my baby I couldn’t wait to come back and now I’m in heaven! Great customer service and wonderful host. BTW they fried chicken wings are the Bomb!!!
First time dining here but won’t be the last. Catfish and fried chicken were incredible. Potato salad and collared greens were fantastic, too. Only place I’ve ever seen have a weekend happy hour. Chandler was a great waiter!

All went well until the bill came. I ordered an appetier and receive the dinner portion, then was expected to pay for their mistake or miscommunication. I seek out to support Black Business and 9 times out of 10, the experience is wonderful. Unfortunately, this places was that one that was greatly disappointing. First time there and probably the last time. Integrity goes a long way. In my opinion, management could have handled the issue in a more honorable manner.
