Hen and Fin was a pleasant surprise. It was Monday and we were going to the smoke house across the street but they're closed Mondays, so we gave this place a try. The cashier had great customer service and he told us everything was homemade even the fries. I had chicken, fries, and the banana pudding. It was good, not salty or greasy. I will return
Everything was GREAT!!! The place was clean. Music was enjoyable! I thought my grandma was back there on this sweet potato pie and hen &fin meal! The sweet potatoes do melt in your mouth! If your Mac don’t taste like this keep it! I will be back!!
We have enjoyed everything we have eaten from here. It definitely beats out some of the other soul food spots in the district. We had an event catered by them as well and everyone enjoyed everything. Not a single complaint. We didn’t have them make the max & cheese but I’ve had it and it’s great. I can’t wait to see how this place grows!
I can't believe it's taken me this long to try Hen and Fin. It is delicious, reasonably priced and the service was super friendly and fast. As it was my first time I started with the basics! I ordered the 5 piece wings, Mac n cheese, and greens. They had shrimp and corn chowder as a special so I couldn't resist adding that on (couple of other daily specials too). I'm so glad I did, very yummy on a cold winter day! The fried chicken was hot and fresh, made with a well seasoned batter. The Mac n cheese is great and made with real cheese, not just a bunch of melted veleta. The greens... honestly might be the best I've had. So so so flavorful and not over salted. Everything was delicious, I can't wait to go back for fish and to try their burnch!!

My hubby and I put purchased food at this place. We had fish, shrimp, fries, hush puppies and Mac n cheese. Hubby’s fries were soggy. I called back within a minute after to let them know. The manger was in disbelief. She expressed over and over that their fries are always fresh. She even spoke to the cook/owner and they almost refused to recook some, until I insisted. On another visit I was disrespected by the owner. He instructed his worker not to put anymore food in my box. The customer service was horrible and I will NOT be going back to this place.
Ordered fish shrimp chicken wings mac and greens. It was good.Greens was alittle salty for my taste bit if you mix it with mac and cheese it was fine. I like the jerk mango sauce sauce
Visiting the DC area and we tried Hen and Fin. The wings and fried Catfish were delicious! However, even after waiting my fries were served cold. The sides were delicious... the cornbread, greens and mac n cheese were very tasty.
Rapidly becoming a go-to place for me because the food is good enough to pick you up on a not-so-good day. Great prices and good portions. Nice people running the shop and decent parking available. A quality menu with a couple of good dessert options. Ice Tea is that old school Lipton mix that Mama used to whip up. I definitely think this place is rising!
Everything was extremely good the cabbage was OK didn’t like the cumin taste( taste was something different) but I still ate it. Pricey but worth a good meal… The sauces are very good.. . Staff was nice and the place is clean. I will order again & refer friends and family to Hin and Fish.
