I have to reduce one star. While this is still nearly the best chicken in the city. Something very minor has changed since it was called Crown Chicken. I cannot tell you how disappointing this drop of maybe 10% quality affected me.I used to dream of this place, and now I just get it every so often. A let down for sure, but still very very good chicken.The sides are all sort of weak here. The Mac and cheese looks amazing but just tastes kind of bland. Came with the collards. But this place is all about the chicken.
First time going today after doing a door dash order here. Staff (young lady with glasses) was super nice and gave me good advice. The food was PHENOMENAL!!! Like the cashier said I will definitely be back!
There were not many places open at 1AM on a weekday. We were grateful for some kind of food in DC so late. I love CRISPY fried chicken. This place had crispy chicken. But it was NOT good.I bought a 5-6 pack of chicken w/ mac n cheese. The chicken was salty and was dry. The mac and cheese texture was grainy.This place was just not good.
If DC charges $0.05 for bags, why are you all charging 5 times that much?Shopping bags at Harris Teeter is $0.05 and yet I had to walk out with food in my hands and was still charged 0.25 for a bag I never received?This alone has caused me to never patronize your establishment ever again.
This place has been renovated and the menu updated. The chicken is good, the lamb over rice highly recommend. The attendants are cool and pleasant. Be prepared to see some neighborhood loiters and it's also next to a bus stop
Had h&chicken while in town for a concert. It. Was. Amazing. We got it delivered to our hotel and it was quite simply the absolute best fried chicken I’ve EVER had. I’ll definitely recommend to everyone I know who lives up that way or is up visiting.

A lot has changed over the years. Didn’t know they really changed the menu a lot. The chicken used to be bomb, went there yesterday after so many years and the chicken was definitely not up to part. It’s wasn’t as crispy as it used to be, and the batter must be something different because it really looks different. That’s all I can say.
I'm a truck driver and I love me some breakfast! Saw this place sold breakfast 10pm at night on door dash and read the reviews. I must say...I am not disappointed at ALL! Food took about 40 minutes to get to me and it was still warm. I'm from Florida and I know good fried chicken when I have and it was seasoned good and waffle was on point! I do recommend the chicken and waffle fo-sho!
