Fantastic little place -- went in with a friend to explore for brunch yesterday, had an amazing iced chai, and got the traditional Ethiopian breakfast with chechebsa which was delicious. The lovely proprietor is a very sweet lady. The service may be a little slow because the staff is small, but it's completely worth it.
Got some breakfast sandwiches and the Ethiopian coffee pot with my fiancé, and it was probably the best breakfast sandwiches we’ve ever gotten. And we are breakfast sandwich connoisseurs. The Ethiopian coffee pot was tasty and caffeinated. The place itself is beautiful and very clean, the service warm and friendly and prompt. We will definitely be back!
This was my first time trying Ethiopian food, and I’m glad I had this experience at Gueny’s. It wasn’t just that the food is absolutely delicious, well-portioned, and reasonably priced (a hard find in DC), the owner also puts her heart and soul into ensuring the best customer experience possible.I spent almost all day at Gueny’s getting some urgent work out of the way, and the owner never fussed. She consistently checked in to make sure I was taken care of and occasionally provided popcorn and some great Ethiopian coffee.The best cafe experience I have had in DC by far, and I can’t wait to come back soon!
An absolutely fantastic dining experience. The food was flavorful, and fresh, and the owners were able to add extra spice to accommodate my needs. The accoutrements are wonderful and contrast well with the decor. A wonderful experience, and I will definitely be coming again!
Fantastic coffee! I also ordered a BLT, which was also good. The neighborhood needs more places like this, highly recommend.

I stopped in Gueny's last Saturday for some breakfast -- and it was such a lovely morning. Great customer service, friendly staff, and delicious food. I'll be back, with others, early and often.

Walked in there to have some food, and had one of the best lentil soups ever! It is a small cafe with a big heart. Very generous and nice owner. Definitely recommended.
