If there’s anything subpar to a dive bar, this is it. Bad service, rude employees.
First time out in DC and this random find on a Thursday had be stripped and dancing in a room full of shirtless folk. No cover was a win and the bartenders upstairs pumped out inexpensive drinks in record time. Everyone was friendly.
Went in around 5:45 on a Tuesday to grab a drink. Quiet crowd, no one behind the bar. We waited about 5 minutes with no staff to be seen before we gave up and left.
Tonight there was an incident with one of the bartenders on the second floor ( black guy on the right side). I ordered a drink and I gave him my card. He served me the drink but I did not receive my credit card back and I asked him, he told me that he had not received my credit card. I insisted because I had given him my credit card and he later found it on the floor and returned it to me. when he returned my credit card he told me he was on the floor, I told him at least one sorry would be better and that triggered him to start insulting me to such a degree that he grabbed my full drink and threw it away in the bar. I felt completely humiliated, this is not a place that stands up to these things, but I want to complain because these things should not happen in a place where we are a minority and we are here to support each other. I don't know if I will return to this place but the owners should take these reviews seriously so as not to allow something like this to happen again
On Jan 9, 2022 the bartender downstairs took a $58 Tip on a $17 tab without my authorization. My bank confirmed it was unauthorized, and I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bereau.
Long-standing DC gay bar. Management is wonderful and friendly, as are all the staff. Home of DC’s shirtless men drink free on Thursdays
One of the best gay bars in DC. Fun, friendly, down to earth. Def always worth a visit.
The Green Lantern is fun with a lot of events and folks I used to see often at The DC Eagle.
I have only been here twice for the LOBO event that is hosted once every month. However, I can say that the place is well run with a focus on making sure people are safe and having fun. It's somewhere I look forward to go to and not feel anxious.
