The restaurant is fine but it's not the same experience as it was 10 years ago when I would order take out from here all the time while interning in DC. I think the ownership changed. I tried to order a dish called beef eggs with rice - they don't create orders that are not already programmed into the system. The Buddhist delight and beef chow fun I ordered were on point though
We got crab rangoons (delicious!!), egg rolls (okay), combo lo mein (good), and spicy fried squid (delicious!).Service was excellent and portions were big! Happy to find this place.
This rating is for the duck noodle soup. As another Yelper suggested, get the smaller menu with the noodles. Love the generous amount of duck they have in their soup. Otherwise, everything else is a three (or less). The location is gritty, evidenced by the folks lingering outside, and the service is mediocre to bad, especially if you don't speak the language. However, this place has been here for a long time and I respect that. Prices here haven't changed much, so if you're looking for decent food and not concerned with ambiance, stop by here.
My friend wanted vegetables and I was in the mood for pork, so we were both very happy with our Buddhist Delight ($13.95) and Moo Shi Pork ($14.95). There are no lunch specials, but the portions were large the food was delicious, so we thought the prices were very reasonable. Excellent service too.
I started coming here over 30 years ago, when I lived in DC. Paid a visit recently and was surprised by how little had changed. They have a steady clientel, not a tourist place although there are throngs outside on the street. Ignore the traditional dishes and try something new.
I was travelling throughout Washington DC and googled "authentic Chinese food restaurants near me" while standing under the beautiful Chinese Gate where I exited from the metro. I walked only a couple of blocks to this fantastic restaurant. I sat down and ordered a delicious meal ! Sue was very kind and friendly. I have eaten at many, many Chinese restaurants in NYC where I live and where I thought I had experienced the best. Sue has a gem in the heart of Chinatown. I ordered a meal that truly enjoyed, delicious and not overly salted like at so many other chinese restaurants. I ordered a pot of HOT OOLONG TEA that was so delicate, it complemented my meal perfectly! Ann, who served my meal was very kind and when I mentioned that my cellphone battery was low, she was kind enough to allow me to use the outlet and charge up and after a wonderful experience, I was on my way with a full and happy belly, a container of leftovers and a smile on my face ready to take to the streets on foot and continue my exploration of this beautiful city and it's kind and welcoming people like Sue and Ann of FULL KEE Restaurant. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be going back there whenever I am in DC.
DC Native here, this place is pretty good. You run across so many Chinese food spots in the city but this one has been the tastiest i've had since Yenching Palace on Connecticut Ave. It's a no thrills, small, quaint spot but the food, hot and tasty. I had the Beef and Brocc one day and the next day the Kung Pao chicken. It was so good I had to call the place and let them know. Check this place out, pretty good and cheap!
We had high hope after seeing the (outdated) photos of the food on the web, the result was however fairly ok on the scale. By reading other reviews, I came to realize the ownership had recently been changed. However it was certainly acceptable for traditional Chinese food. Service was pretty good.
I used to frequent this place at least once a week and have been trying to come back the last few times I was in the area. I finally made it and I got my closure. It was not as good as it used to be. Pandemic, change of owners or whatever it is. The flavors are no longer there and neither is the menu they used to have. It’s good food but not worth the extra mile. If you are in the area and are craving some Chinese food go ahead. Had wonton soup. Kingdom pork chop and fish tofu casserole. All ok!
