The food was alright. Not the best Ethiopian food we have tried. On an interesting street though and polite service. Close to the metro.

I Googled restaurants in the DC area. Many people say " The Ethiopian restaurants are good!" I found this restaurant near my cheap hotel. I opened the menu. I had no idea. I asked a server about food. She brought beef and injera. I didn't see any silverware, so I guessed that everything was some finger food. I tried. I was watching a Youtube video about " How to eat Ethiopian food". I did my best. The injera was good. It was a great cultural experience for me in DC. You can try it!

I came here for dinner on a Friday night and had a good experience! It wasn't too crowded and we were easily able to get a table for two. We got one of the combination platter (I think it was 27) and it was a good way to try a variety of the food and it was plenty for 2 people! They also have a good variety of drinks. Everything tasted pretty good, it's a good option if you're looking for Ethiopian food in the area.

I tried so many Ethiopian Restaurants and Dukem is one of the best! Deluxe Veggie is the ultimate experience.

Went hear to eat for the first time through recommendation from a friend. We went early. There was no one else there besides us when we arrived. Despite this, on several occasions we had to ask for attention and service for what we wanted. Asked for menus. Asked for drinks. When the food arrived, waitress did not bring all items incl on main dish. Asked for and waited for that to arrive. Asked for and waited on hill to arrive. When it finally came, it was upwards of $154.00 on a meal for two people. Waitress was unable to explain the bill to us, so had to wait for the manager. After I spoke with manager, waitress finally came back with bill split according to how we ordered. My portion was $47 and change. Still overcharged, but paid because I felt I spent more time waiting as it was. The food was alright. But not worth what was being charged. Service was substandard.

We stopped in for a late dinner after catching a show at The Kennedy Center. Totally worth the 15 minute drive. It wasn’t at all busy, but should be. They accommodated our vegan needs with a wonderful spread of cabbage, lentils, spicy potatoes, and chickpeas. Yum!

Delicious food! I love Ethiopian cuisine.Fair warning though, the service needs improvement as well as the restrooms!

The server made sure we were comfortable and offered a new dish to one member of our party who didn't like the first thing he ordered. I enjoyed the music and the food.

Nice Ethiopian food good service! The Ethiopian beer Negus was good as well!!

I’ve been to Dukem before, but this time it was amazingly disappointing. This is the first time ever I’ve eaten Ethiopian food and felt short-changed.Small and utterly underwhelming pricey platter. It’ll take me a while to get over this poor experience. In the meanwhile, I’ll go make myself a sandwich to compensate for the limited dinner…
