I ate here twice in the past two days. Once for lunch and then again fro brunch. The sandwich we ate at lunch were so tasty, we came again to order the same or try something else. . Our sandwiches are not available at brunch. I ordered the breakfast sandwich and my friend had the burger. It was the most horrible breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had. I don’t usually complain about the food but i wish i went to McDonalds. The potatoes patties came out cold and i had to wait for ketchup. The service was horrible even though it was not very crowded. My friend ordered a burger which was equally gross. The burger was served cold and it seemed like it was reheated and not made fresh. His beer came out warm. Now thinking when i came to lunch, it was actually crowded so they made the food fresh. The service was better at lunch than on the weekend. Overpriced crappy food with crappy service. I will never go again. I strongly don’t recommend eating here. Waste of money! Choose this place to eat and you will ruin your day. I can’t say enough how sick i felt after trying Duke’s Grocery. I left most of my plate untouched and went to eat somewhere else again. Despite how little i ate i felt sick for hours after.

Yummy food, you can taste the quality of the ingredients. All the dishes look very appealing to the eye. They have absolutely amazing Mac and Cheese. I've gotten their burgers a couple time which always impress. Cute atmosphere, rustic, and very chill. Nice spot for a first date, slightly above casual but not too much where you can't come in normal wear.I would sit inside; The interior is well designed and gives off great atmosphere. Outside they offer tents or seats. The tents in humid DC weather will most of the time not be comfortable.

Really wanted you like this place because the atmosphere was cool but it was a let down. The hostess was snippy with one of our party because she asked for a menu while we waited and the girl said “menus are outside” and then reluctantly gave her one from the podium right in front of her. The service was pretty bad also. We waited several minutes to have our drink order taken, which I get because I know sometimes they have to let wait staff know they have a new table. Drinks were ordered and brought, the sodas were literally flat which we couldn’t tell our waitress about for another 30 minutes because that’s how long it took her to come back after bringing drinks. And that was only because I caught her eye and she noticed we were ready. Her demeanor wasn’t great either, not apologetic for the wait or even really nice. Food came and it was just ok, the sweet potato fries I got and my friends truffle fries were two of the things we liked best. The crème brûlée, although definitely pre-made and just grabbed out of a refrigerator, did have really great flavor. All the sandwiches everyone got were not that great. Again, after the food runner brought our food the waitress didn’t come by to check on everything or see if we needed anything. That happened basically at the end of the meal which is obviously pointless by then. If they are going to make gratuity 20% on parties over 6, then the service needs to match that. I think customer service gets lost on new age places like this in cities because they know more people will come so they aren’t too concerned with making sure you have a good experience.

Best classic burger I’ve ever had.

The Wagyu was really good, I had high expectations and was not disappointed. Staff was super friendly also. For any burger fan in DC, this is a must place to go.

Hamburger amazing! Staff kind and friendly! Recommend it!

Great place for burgers. We got the Proper Burger and loved it. The only tiny surprise was that they don't serve fries with their burgers - so maybe try their latkes for the potato fix!The outdoor patio area is lovely if the weather is nice. Would recommend making a reservation, since it can get quite busy.

Enjoyed an awesome first lunch here during a ride around DC on Friday. Grabbed one of the many seats outside and perused the menu. Everything sounded so good so I was torn but ultimately went with the Grinder (angus pastrami/ smoked turkey/ salami/ provolone/ banana pepper/ onions/ tomato/ picklesgarlic aioli/ dijon mustard/ ciabatta) and it was incredible! Pro-tip: ask them to toast the ciabatta and put some extra aioli on the side. Also sampled some of their latkes and they were tasty though I was too full to even finish one because the sandwich was so hearty. Last but not least, I had some fresh squeezed blood orange juice to wash things down.Great service, very friendly and attentive staff. They even let me charge my board inside while I ate. Definitely will be back to try more things.

My egg was extremely over cooked (pictured) for something described as “runny.”The trifecta of a great brunch is being able to order a coffee, water, and alcoholic beverage at the same time that you are waiting on your delicious runny eggs that are hopefully cooked properly. This establishment does not offer coffee. No coffee, at brunch. Did anyone at this restaurant actually think this decision through? Has anyone here ever had a proper brunch? Has anyone here truly lived? It’s obvious they have not and have some reflecting to do on this poor decision.

The woman who served my friend and I (who also tended bar) was cold and abrupt. If it hadn't been so frigid outside (and had I known where else to go) we both would have left before ordering food. A message to the owner, your servers play a pivotal role in how people perceive your establishment. I'd suggest cleaning house and finding—at the *very* least—polite, cheerful staff.
