Had dinner with some friends. My pulled pork platter was good. The pork was juicy and flavorful, coleslaw was tasty. Collard greens were excellent. My friends enjoyed their food too. Service was good. My big gripe was that the table was super sticky and gross.
all of their sauces are meh or bad. pulled pork is nothing to write home about but fine. brisket is good but they trim all of their fat and sell it to you in the per pound container. sliced is fine. pretty upset to pay $27 for fat trimmings.
Three of us had dinner at Cinder yesterday. One ordered 1/2 rack of ribs, and didn’t share…Enuf said. But she did insist I taste her Brussels sprouts, which she knows I detest. Dang, they were delicious! And so were our two orders of dry-rubbed wings, about a pound worth per, some very crispy, thin fries and an order of mac n cheese. They have a limited selection of IPAs, and tho I’m not big on them, our server suggested one that was just fine, so kudos to her for the assist. Cinder is a cool little neighborhood spot that’s worth a visit.??
Awesome BBQ, great whiskey selection, and killer Mexican breakfast on the weekends. Google gets the hours wrong so be sure to check their instagram (cinderbbqdc). Breakfast is served from 9 am to 12:30 pm on the weekends, and on week nights the kitchen closes at 9:15 pm, but you can still come in for drinks after that. Folks here are very friendly and the staff is super helpful. Beware that on some busy nights the BBQ may run out, so get there at a reasonable hour. Ive only experienced that once (it was almost 9 pm) and opted for the chicken and my husband got the cauliflower - both were delish! Under normal circumstances, i get the ribs and they’re fantastic!
I don’t usually do reviews but I’m also not spoken to in a rude manner by the manager at the door. I went to this restaurant because someone referred it. I was greeted with an attitude by Matt who I am told is the manager. I am walking to the bar and I hear Matt say go around. I proceed to do so and he repeats himself and raises his voice a little. I walk away an am then greeted by a very nice bartender, Rain. Rain was very helpful and very apologetic. She also understood my disability. I can not see well(mostlyColor). She helped me order and adjusted the screen so I could pay. I would only return to the restaurant for her!
great food, drinks and Atmosphere.
Got the pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw and mac. Everything was good. The pickles were delicious and the sauces they had were good too. Staff was friendly.
Best brisket in town. We eat here very often, and always have a great experience.
I live around the corner from here, my dog leads me to Cinder on every walk. She waits for her treat that she expects when we visit and is always kindly welcomed and loved. This time we stopped for a date night together and the Cinder staff not only provided treats, but a bowl of water and a comfy blanket!I've also eaten here and their food is uh-mazing ?
absolutely the best pozole I’ve ever had. Also, they kindly made my husband’s huevos ranchero with just egg whites. A great little place!
