The number of kosher places to eat in DC is surprisingly limited. During a recent trip to DC my wife and I met some friends here for dinner. We all were extremely happy with our food and the service was great. Only about a 20 minute walk to Capital One Arena afterward

We came second time to have nice dinnerWaiting at the door was very long time.Only 2 server’s was working on floor floor when the restaurant was full.We got to seat and order our mealsAppetizers and main course came out at the same time and very coldWhen we put it to notice we where surprised to see that the same plate come back in couple of minutes cold again . I asked to speak with the manager it seems to me that he had no interest to fix bad service I end up sitting waiting to my family to finish eat I expressed way thought with the manager but no use. Sorry because at the first visit it was greatI guess this restaurant can’t handle full houseNot recommend for dinner time at all

The food was good but the service was very slow from getting our menus, to our order being taken, to our food arriving and getting our check. The server also forgot our drinks and I got a really strange look when I asked for an unsweetened iced tea which they didn't have. I don't feel like the food was worth going back for due to the slow service.

We haven't had Kosher before but they were very gracious and we loved it! Definitely a memorable stop on our DC trip.

PROS • Kosher • Downtown D.C. location • Tasty juicy hamburger CONS • Unclear about delivery service “I VISITED THIS PLACE”… … because it is the kosher restaurant in Washington D.C. i was happy and satisfied.

Went back 3 times. Burgers perfectly deliciou, salmon burger also great. Service excellent and friendly. Well priced.

This is a kosher restaurant, with dietary laws and restrictions observed. If you want a milkshake with your pastrami sandwich, you'll have to go somewhere else. Same for pulled, or any other kind of pork. A little expensive, but the New Yorker sandwich I had was very good.

As a teacher visiting DC with my class, I was not going to expect a top experience, but Char Bar treated us well. The food was fresh and just as we ordered in advance. If they can make chicken tenders crunchy and meaty, then it usually follows that the rest will be good. The buns were fresh, the salad was fresh and the grilled chicken was too. Fries were also homemade and delicious. There were regular patrons too. FYI. Oh and the wings were very much a hit.

Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was quick. The place was full and patrons kept coming. I had the pulled beef nachos which were officially an appetizer but was a very generous portion and easily qualified as a full meal for me. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

I would give 2.5 stars if that where an option. The food was subpar at best. The hamburger bun I got was clearly low quality and the chicken wings where lacking sauce. The service was Not great either. My opinion if you have other options go to a different restaurant but if not this will be ok just do not expect it to be fabulous.
