God bless you mr GEORGE KELVIN.
My girlfriend and I visited this restaurant as part of a three-day dining spree for the weekend. We were pretty excited to try something a little more upscale, but the experience there was admittedly a bit lackluster. The real mood killer was the service. For the sake of transparency, we had made reservations as was required during the COIVD-19 Pandemic and knew that we had to sit outside, but the amount of time we waited to be served was enough to make a patient man tap his foot.We and many other patrons were repeatedly asked if we wanted to drink something else than water, leading me to believe that expensive alcohol and thus, bigger tips were at the forefront of our server's mind rather than ensuring we had everything we needed. I think we spent more time waiting for us to be served and waiting for the check to be picked up than we did eating. On the bright side, the food was absolutely fantastic and my choice, the steak frites, was a generous portion and definitely worth the money.I might give Brasserie Beck another chance on my next visit to D.C., I just wish we weren't treated as second-rate for not ordering rather pricey drinks.

Wonderful steak dinner for fiance and Fish for me Woine selection was perfect. Half price on Saturday evenings. The steak was cooked exactly to a medium rare (the way I like it) and was as tender as any I have had for a long time. Of course, the Frites on the side were exceptional as well. All of this wrapped with very good service and a sophisticated atmosphere.
You have to come in and try the steak frites or the boeuf bourguignon or salmon. I can’t decide which I love the best and I keep coming every day on our vacation because this place is great! Huge portions and gourmet dishes. Ask for John he’s the best.
Most underrated restaurant in D.C., and the service is always top-notch. Great patio as well.

Great experience having dinner in a restaurant after 3 months! The patio seating was used, no indoor seating. The servers (as well as the customers!) were a bit confused about the situation and you could not be sure what to expect in the service vs. safety balance. But the food tasted great as always and the hosts did their best.
Impeccable service, impressive taste. The menu is just a single side and what they say about restaurants that have small menus is true- almost everything is bound to taste good. I saw just one chef in the open kitchen and he was doing an amazing job on the dishes.Nutella French toast was really light and flavorful French toast with Nutella on the side- heaven! The Belgian waffles were outstanding and barely needed the syrup on the side. Crab cake Benedict was a good size dish- the crab cakes were crisp and the eggs were poached right, but the vinaigrette served on the side salad stole the show. The frites were excellent and there were three aioli choices- the Thai flavored one was yummy!!The egg skillet was great with crisp potatoes, onions and cheese and really good bread.Hot chocolate was decadent and we had a cheesecake dessert- this was not exactly a cheesecake but whatever it was, it was delicious !!
A bit too racist for me, but tastes vary.
