Great French pastries and coffee, excellent sandwiches. We returned there since we enjoyed so much their pistachio pastry.
I don't know how I did not discover this place sooner. I was a little bit hesitant coming here after reading the negative reviews online and the Washington Post article but I'm so glad I did come anyway. This if the best place for pastries and bread in DC. The staff were really friendly and ordering was fairly quick despite the lines. The food is absolutely wonderful the pastries are so delightful and fresh. I ordered a lemon tart pistachio eclair and a salmon quiche and they were all just wonderful. I also absolutely love their marble cakes and hazelnut and Chestnut cakes... They are truly perfect. I didn't like the fact that there was very limited seating... And unfortunately the seating indoors is really terrible... The tables are way too high and uncomfortable... I ordered the majority of my food to go. Will definitely come back again for breakfast in the future.
The line to get in was long, for a reason. It’s a great French bakery. Everything is authentically French. In fact, I ended up sharing a table out back with a French woman and her boyfriend in the courtyard at back—and she wasn’t the only French person there looking for a taste of home! The pastries where flaky and buttery. The custard filling them was made to perfection. I also ordered a dessert to bring home, that was also delicious. The baguette—they advertise as a winner for the award for the best baguette, and I see why—was perfect. The crust my hard and crunchy, the dough was chewy with air pockets. I couldn’t have asked for more, except for one thing. I ordered a Café au Lait to go with my pastries. The process for preparing them needs some adjusting—probably another espresso machine. I had to wait about 10 minutes for my coffee, after I sat down to enjoy my pastries, and they didn’t deliver my coffee to the table.
It is difficult to choose from the wide assortment of French pastries and other goodies. Great cakes! If you need a cake for special occasions you have to call and order at least one day in advance. Their almond and other (not plain) croissants are not my favorites as they seem lacking in fillings/non-dough ingredients.
so hard to find a good baguette, even in France, so this place is a dream for those who appreciate good bread, jam, and all the usual French fair.
Walking into this boulangerie makes me feel like I am in Paris. Everything is authentic and hearing the staff interact with customers In French makes me smile. Perfect breads and French pastries in an adorable environment. Check out the patio in the back!
Excellent place for a stop if you're doing your morning walk when you're staying at Georgetown.Fresh pastries and savory pies await you. I opted for their crepe forestiere which I'm glad I did. Succulent mushrooms, creme fraske over tender chicken breast. Brunchworthy!
Wow, great french bakery. Had the mont blanc. Don't usually even care for them, but this was phenomenal. The meringue on the outside was crispy yet fluffy on the inside, perfect! The inside was not overwhelming stickiness as is often the case, but a nice understated cream as well to add balance. Will definitely come back.
Only the name is French. Staff cannot manage the flow of people. Prepare to wait 10 minutes to have a coffee. Cake was dry. Tomato tart was tasteless. Croissant was good.
Authentic French pastries. My favorite bakery in DC. Excellent bread too. The giant piece of avocado toast on a slice of crunchy bread is amazing!! They make the best millefeuille with lovely crispy layers. They had a divine Xmas buche made of lemon and pistachio with raspberries on top. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it!!! The smoked salmon sandwich is very good too.
