My son got a spicy half smoke and chilli cheese fries and he loved the half smoke. But the turkey dog did not taste fresh, I couldn't chew it enough and therefore did not take another bite! My daughter got a regular hotdog and she said it was disgusting. Also I got plain fries and they looked dirty. And the inside of the restaurant smelled like feet. I have never been to this location and We will never go back. I should have stuck with the other location.
Delicious and filling.Ordered a "Spicy Half-Smoke", onion rings and a coffee milk-shake.The chili had enough zip to make it tasty without burning off the lining of my mouth. The onion rings and shake were equally delicious.Food was delivered to our table quickly and hot.. . . I dont know the history of the two pandas outside the door but they were definitely drawing a number of photo opportunists. :-)
Very pricey food. $16.00 to $20.00 a combo But fast friendly and quick like fast food kind of quick. Food was hot, fresh and right. Made to order. Be expecting this to take a small pinch out of the piggy bank but totally worth it. Were from a area with lots of mom and pop eatery's. This reminds me of back home. I suggest the burger and chili cheese fries.
Okay, the food was just okay. I wasn’t impressed. My home girl ordered the chili dog and the chili was good however the hot dog tasted like a regular hot dog. My hamburger was dry, I guess they forgot to put the special sauce on it. My friends daughter ordered the cake & it was good…
Love the chili burger & fries! Ben's is such an iconic DC Landmark. And a favorite repeat client our ours over the years.
Excellent choice for lunch. Chili fries and a burger were my choice and they were oh so good. The chili does have some heat to it, which I like spicy and enjoyed the added kick. My hubby enjoyed his chili dog along with the chili fries. I topped my lunch of with a vanilla milkshake.. wow! Best milkshake I've had, my cheeks were sore from trying to slurp it up, it was thick and just what one would expect of a great shake. The service was a bit laid back and slow, but the place was clean and wasn't too crowded to get a seat.
Ben's half smoke, Ben's burger, and the onion rings, and the coleslaw were nice n tasty. The overworked staff worked hard to get everyone's orders out! Management should look into fixing the soda fountain and adequate supply orders (they had run out of rice for the rice bowls due to demand).
Overrated over priced. I could have gotten a better off a hot dog truck on the streets and only pay &3.00 this 27.00 hot dog is gross. The chili is horrible. The staff attitude was so bad which reflected in the food. No thank you DC never again.
Quick date night first time at Ben's Chili Bowl and it was good. Cashier and cook were very friendly and the inside was clean plus the music was good.
Ben’s Chili Bowl has hands down the best chili dog ever! I will never eat chili dogs anywhere else. The chili fries are out of this world.
