Menu and food were quite a bit better than I remembered. Pretty solid 8th Street option
It's been a while since I ate at Belga Cafe, the same fine food and excellent service remains. In fact, the service was better than I remember, not that there was any problem with it in the past. The menu is varied, and not over-packed. The octopus dish was great, and the fries are almost as good as the ones my French mother used to make. And, excellent. The servers kept a perfect balance of attention to our table and leaving us to eat, drink, and have a great time (and meals).
Everything was almost perfect. When we arrived the hostess was a bit confused about our reservation, but it was sorted out and the fun began! The food was amazing and the waitress was great (Don Omar). He made everything better and definitely coming back.
Although we love this place, we had to wait 30 minutes for our seat event though we had a reservation. The waiter also messed up our order forgetting one of our entrees. The management did his best to mend the situation but seems they may be understaffed for a weekend. Food is always solid though.
Great food and ambiance. Service was superb and the attention to detail is great. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very helpful, attentive, and pleasant staff. Food was good but price was kinda high for the portion size.
Belga Cafe no longer is a go-to spot for me. The Betsyâs G+T was expensive, small, and lacking any taste of gin. And there were too many pink peppercorns in my drink so I was always spitting them out. The food was OK but nothing terribly special. The $22 hamburger I ordered wasnât very large and was cooked unevenly with too much of it well done. Moreover, I asked for grilled onions instead of the standard raw onions and what I got was a three dollar charge for onions that were barely cooked. The serving of frites was small and didnât come with any mayonnaise on the side. The service was ok although the waiter should have seen that the onions werenât grilled as I requested. I wonât be going there again.
Food and service is outstanding. Been 3 times including an igloo December birthday and very impressed each time. My only observation is the interior decor needs a refresh.
We hadden gereserveerd voor onze huwelijksverjaardag en we kregen de aperitief aangeboden van het huis! Bijzonder attent vol en gewaardeerd. Het voorgerecht alsook de hoofdmaaltijd was subliem! De chocolademousse uiteraard met Belgische chocolade ! 10/10 voor Chef Bart en zijn team
Brunch was very busy. Make sure to have reservation prior to showing up. Everything was good. I only wish more spaces were available indoors.
