My fiance and I had an amazing time at Banana Leaves. It was super easy to order on the toast app, once we ordered the food was there so fast. We both got tea which was delicious and refreshing on a rainy day. We got sushi, all the rolls were awesome. In addition, we had the mango chicken and edamame as an appetizer. The mango chicken was AMAZING. the chicken was really crispy and there were huge mango chunks and fresh vegetables.
I came with family. The restaurant had excellent reviews. I think for a teenager it is fine. We chose four different dishes. 1: the friend rice was floating in grease. The 11 yo boy thought that it was great. The adults found it inedible. The server was young and inexperienced; however, pleasant. I asked if the General Tao’s Chicken was deep fried and thickly coated. He said that it was sautéed. It was deep fried, and terribly overcooked. I left 3/4 of the dish on the plate. The server made no comment. My daughter ordered a vegetarian dish with wide noodles… also super greasy. She left at least 3/4 uneaten.. no comment made. We then ordered a dish with an Asian pancake and dipping sauce. You could see the grease dripping off the deep fried pancakes/crepes. Again too greasy to finish. In sum, if you have a strong stomach and like oily food preparation, this place is for you. I recommend eating elsewhere.
Delicious food. Their lack of interaction was awkward. Everything is done through the phone didn't even ask if we had questions. Food was super good and the atmosphere was really nice.
I met a friend here while in DC and the food and service was great. The drinks were good not really strong. I got the shrimp fried rice and egg rolls. My friend got sushi. Very good and near my hotel.
Ordered Two in Love, Fried Rice with crab meat and Asian Nachos with Salmon. Two in Love was definitely cooked in rancid oil and was unpalatable. Everything was greasy and seemed to be put together by a trainee chef who has a long way to go.
My friends and I read about this place on trip advisor on our most recent trip to DC and let me tell you we absolutely loved it. We were hoping for a good Asian place that would satisfy our cravings and not break the bank. This is literally the best food I've ever eaten and the owner and our waiter were so sincere, sweet and helpful! We got the Kung pao tofu (spicy), red curry spicy, grilled chicken with coconut rice, and Indian pancakes. I will definitely come back to DC just to eat here again!
Uber eats order, got buy one get one general Tso’s, great for the price! Nice packaging too, stapled shut! Covid safe!
Best a Asian food ever, the staff is amazing, the way that you can order and pay for your food is super practical 100% recommended
Wish I would've ordered something more sofisticated. Teriyaki sauce on the chicken was sooo good and so was the jasmine rice.
