First, should be called ice cream, gelato is something else. Pistachio and tiramisu flavor very industrial made, the employee took 5 minutes to scoop the ice cream was so hard, not creamy means that the quality is not artisanal so not gelato, bus industrial ice cream. Raise your standard of production and ingredients if you are looking to be fancy and call it gelato.
Some of the best Gelato I've ever had!!!!!!! 10 out of 10!!! Amazing. Truly a treat. I usually ride my bike and get the to-go bigger sizes for later. The flavor selection is varied and the flavor is outstanding. It's also right next to a great NYC style Pizza spot. Don't sleep on Altani Gelato & Coffee!!!!
I really enjoy this gelato shop and my favorite flavors are the lemon and cheesecake, though they offer such a great and delicious variety! The only thing I’ll say though is that it seems they’re keeping the gelato at too cold of a temperature. Gelato is supposed to be a bit softer and creamy but you can tell just by watching the server scoop your gelato that it is way, way too hard. I don’t remember this being an issue when I first went here several months ago but I’ve noticed it over the past couple visits. Hasn’t kept me from returning though….
freezer burn taste and made me sick afterwards. service was not friendly.
This is not Gelato. It was hard rock and tasteless.
Delicious, smooth and very addictive. I recommend the Coconut, Pistachio and Roche.
In the mood for ice cream after walking along the marina. We stumbled upon the closest spot but their line was out of the door. We looked via Google Maps for another dessert spot and was directed here. What a fantastic find. The gelato is amazing delicious. I enjoyed my Oreo flavor. My friend got a double flavor and enjoyed hers. We plan to bring our kids back to enjoy the water fountains one evening and try the pizza too. This is definitely a cool place to venture. I believe DC offers free parking on Sunday’s. Parking was pretty plentiful on this Sunday evening. The bathrooms leave everything to be desired - no tissue, just a whole mess for the women’s anyway. But I can’t fault the Gelato venue for this as they share a space with the Pizza vendor and the Sushi vendor. There is ample seating outside and a lovely rooftop space for pictures. The Navy Yard marina is just three blocks away.I hope you find this review helpful. If so, please give me a thumbs up. Thank you.
