We were a bit disappointed with this restaurant as well as the Holiday Inn that it was in. We wanted to pay with cash and our server talked us into putting it on the room which we didn't want to since there was four of us sharing the bill. The food was just OK and the bill was very high. We didn't go back.
Went here because the title made it sound like a nice drinking bar. When we gotThere we saw it was a holiday in bar.. like you have to go into the holiday in toUse the bathroom kind of bar.Not what we expectedService was great though.. atmosphere was like of a bar at a holiday inn
We overall had a good experience with the bar and Grill. it really helped that by staying there, you receive coupons which allowed the children to eat for free. I found the food to be pretty good, Except for the grab and go pizza, which I wasn't really a fan of. I'm not sure what the COVID fee is that was charged extra, and lastly, to charge $10 for such a tiny piece of cheesecake was a bit much.
The chicken tenders are not tender. They are dry and subpar at best. The service was derelict. The place is understaffed the staff undertrained and the kitchen struggles to execute simple food orders. The servers are kind but it’s a disservice to them to handle such a large number of tables. It took over 10 minutes to get three glasses of water.I do not recommend. Hop on the train at Union a few blocks away and just go anywhere else.
Not sure how to begin with how disappointed we were. Service: exceptionality bad. No offer to refill drinks, and there were maybe 2 other tables sat. Limited menu and food was way too expensive and not that great. $65 for lunch for 2 is a bit ridiculous even in DC. We were there over an hour, most spent waiting on service.
Be prepared for a major dent on the wallet here. While the food was okay and the atmosphere was that of a very clean hotel i.e. nice staff, clean and hospitable, you will pay through the nose for what would be half the cost at a BJ’s, Ruby Tuesday’s or Chili’s. Yes, you are essentially paying for convenience as 21st is located in the hotel and the surrounding area is not generally a restaurant town (it’s D.C. so most is business friendly – order, grab and go, no real seating) but again, you will pay for the location. The two things that really got my eye was one bottle of Corona, ONE bottle is $9.50! That’s Camden Yards, Ravens Stadium pricing and we were neither at a sporting event nor a concert!! And here’s the best one; $4.50 COVID surcharge. A COVID surcharge!!?? I need to capitalize on this racket! This is essentially to “cover the rising cost of goods”. So, they are raising prices on you twice by not only increasing the food cost but throwing this little inflation gem on your bill as well. Family of four cost $100.00+ for dinner. My advice is to get a pizza around the corner and bring it up to your room.
We got this delivered to our room via Butler at like 11pm. Honestly the food was better than we expected given the reviews. My husband got the burger and I got the fried chicken sandwich. Both were trending on the "delicious" category. Knocked a star because portions weren't that big for the astronomical price we paid for *decent* food lol. We're from Texas. That meal would've been $25 in texas... $50 here.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn on our recent visit to DC and chose the restaurant for dinner on our first night. The hostess was very pleasant and friendly. That is the best I can say for our experience. I ordered the Impossible Burger (vegan) and received a regular burger. We inquired about a drink menu and the waitress said "there is none" and did not inquire if we were interested in ordering though we heard her ask another table if they cared for a drink. The service was poor and inattentive. Avoid and all costs. Another night, we came back later and decided to try for pizza. A server told us, "we are too busy." Avoid this place. Plan ahead and order out. There is also a nice deli down the street.
Tonight my mother and I were to have dinner here and in all of our trips especially with Holiday Inn, this has to be the worst restaurant we have dined at. First it was good, we got our drinks the soda didn't have ice but we chose to overlook it because who cared right then. As we looked at the menu we were highly dissatisfied with the choices (and the prices). Once we were finally ready to order the waitress, who was nice at the beginning, started getting really snarky when my mom had asked for things off of her burger. Eventually she walked up and a minute later a new waitress comes up, very professional. After our food came out, my moms burger looked horrendous, while my spicy pasta looked decent. As I started to eat the chicken from my pasta, the texture was off and so was the taste... Making me nauseous in the middle of our meal so I didn't even finish my meal. $71.00 dollars for pretty mediocre food. 3/10
Have a drink....skip the foodBartender was great. Drinks were as expected.Dinner however was another adventure. Server sorted her tips from her pocket on our table. DC charges a 5% covid surcharge, to help offset extra sanitation costs.... watched server reset a table with the unused glasses and silverware from the previous guests (that was on their table the entire meal). Crab fritters smelled overly fishy, ribs had the quality of premade "heat & eat" ribs, burgers were dry and tasteless.
