Amazing food, incredible service, and wonderful live performances!! The menu is pretty limited, but they REALLY know how to make each of the dishes that they do offer shine. One of my friends did live performances here every weekend during the summer, so I came here pretty regularly in June and July, and each visit left me very impressed by the freshness of their ingredients, the beauty of their presentation, and the quality of their cooking. Their food is incredibly affordable, especially since the portion sizes are quite large, and everything feels relatively light and healthy. I particularly love their spring rolls and fried tofu noodles.Beyond their food, I really appreciate how speedy their service is and how kind, welcoming, and warm every staff member is! They're always so perceptive of every guest's needs, even when incredibly busy. The general ambiance of the restaurant is also incredible; it's very hip, fun, and colorful, making it the perfect place for a chill hang-out on the weekend or after work. They also have a tiny tiki bar in the basement if you're looking for somewhere to go after dinner.

I was in the mood for a cozy, simple Vietnamese dinner to replace what I would usually enjoy at Bun DC and this did not disappoint. A quirky interior with pops of color and comfy chairs. The service here was helpful and friendly, we found the food to be just wonderful. Flavorful, thoughtful, great portions, and beautifully displayed. Can’t wait to come back. Much more flavor than any local Vietnamese place I’ve tried in the Shaw area.

Came here for lunch with a friend and the food and experience was awesome! Cute little spot with funky decor. I had the banh mi & coffee and it was a perfect lunch. Definitely plan on coming back to try their bao buns and fried rice.

BBQ Pork Spring rolls are great

Great small plates. Nice staff. Fun.

Fantastic experience and wonderful food. Contactless menu to pull up on your phone. (Means you can also research the menu ahead of time if you have ordering anxiety.) Must order waffle rolls. Crystal boba for people who like the texture but maybe not the sweetness of brown sugar. I ordered C2 and the waitress warned me it was sweeter. I'm glad she said something because it would have thrown me. Everything was delicious though and the staff was helpful and attentive. The environment was pretty fun too.

Dining here was a really pleasant experience. The decor is cute and the food was excellent. The fried pork buns were my favorite dish. Got the fried chicken and fried rice as the main dish and it was cooked so well with a nice crisp. The drinks were good as well and the presentation is a plus as well. Can’t wait to go back and try more.

Great little place! They are open despite the construction on the 9th and are a true delight. The place has funky and happy decor, friendly service, and delicious food. I especially love egg coffee as a great midday pick me up.

They ARE open yall despite the construction going on on 9th right now. Cute and funky decor where the kitchen looks like it’s inside a bus, and oil drums covered with stickers. kind staff and tasty food. I got the Thai green milk tea with brown sugar boba and the fried tofu bahn mi. Their sammies are SPICY. Don’t let the jalapeños fool you.

Fresh food takes on a new title at 1914! The menu seems really thoughtful and the vegetarian/vegan options are really satisfying. The beverage menu with several teas seems quite popular, though I didn't try one myself. DC has no shortage of Vietnamese restaurants, but 1914 does it differently in a really special yet accessible way.
