The food is just very subpar. Such a shame because the view is beautiful. The fish was not fresh at all. I would go for a drink and French fries- those were very good.
Our waiter became bizarre after dropping a butter vessel while clearing entrees. Our dessert found its way to us through another server after a very long wait and then he just walked around the dining room aimlessly thereafter. Eventually, without complaint, I asked for our check. He dropped it with a glowering look. He had been extremely friendly at the outset. It was strange and put a damper on the evening.
Food was delicious. Staff was super pleasant but service was slow, however they were very busy so that probably explains it. Can't beat the view!

Sorry, but our experience at the Boathouse last night was disappointingly fair. The rolls were dry, pasta with clam sauce mediocre, and the service--though very pleasant--was terribly disorganized. I have had lovely meals there previously, but last night (with a guest) was really off.
We ate on the outdoor porch. The view of the Saugatuck River was lovely. Crisp white tablecloths, attentive service and great cocktail choices were the pluses. Minuses, Boxes of liquor and linens stacked in the foyer, single stall bathroom, and close tables. The varied menu has small plates and entrees⦠plenty of choices. Food was excellent. We will go again!
