what happened to this diner? I used to love it for years. I ordered the Eggs Benedict Benny, it comes with avocado. it was disgusting. The avocado is not fresh, it came from a jar with horrible after taste. I don't mind the price ( a little high) for good food, which it wasn't. They need to do something if they want to stay in business. not going again
I wish this place was in my state. You couldn't ask for a better diner. Everything was so good. Service was fantastic, food was amazing and the prices were so reasonable.
First time here, driving from Bloomfield, CT on our way to NY. Our Car broke down and while waiting for the tow truck we ate at this diner. We were seated quickly, great service and the food was phenomenal. Steak and eggs were great! Definitely would take that 1 hour drive to eat here again
Local favorite. Food is delicious and staff / management are very friendly and polite. Prefer the condensed menu over the “Cheesecake Factory”-type menu that you’d usually find at a diner. Every item is quality.
One of our favorites to visit when we travel to NY. The food and the service are exemplary. We visited first about 10 years ago when we saw their sign on Route 95. Been back several times since!!! Highly recommend!!!
We loved our server he was very attentive and funny, And the food was actually very good. We was traveling from Bronx, New York to Boston Massachusetts and stopped here along the way
update: to some extent they remediated the quality problem with the roast beef, but now they pretty seriously skimp on the portion size. If it were a bargain-basement place, that would be one thing, but it isn't a bargain-basement place ----- I would say not over-priced for Westport, but definitely not under-priced either. For a $14 roast beef sandwich, you should not be getting spoiled roast beef, nor be confronted with skimpy portions. Persistent problems with the food. Also, still not a particularly pleasant place either. The food quality is erratic here. Some staff is courteous and friendly, some are not, including management. It's clean, but there are persistent problems with food quality, and it can be an unpleasant place. I had a roast beef sandwich that was made with spoiled meat. And, more recently really really soggy French Toast, as in waterlogged soggy like pudding. And the place is not cheap. Granted there are challenges to operating a restaurant today, but you're not walking out of this place without forking over $20-$25 so, when they serve up spoiled meat (you know it's spoiled when it smells and tastes sour), or they serve up French Toast that's like the consistency of wet mud - and you mention it to them nicely so they can fix it, and instead of saying "thanks for bringing that to our attention", they argue and bicker with you - you start to think - "hey, I'll keep the $20-25 and go to McDonald's instead", (and not get sniped at for mentioning a food issue). Not a pleasant place.
The best service and the most incredible cinnamon swirl pancakes I’ve ever eaten. ‘Lisa was an amazing server who kept our coffee filled constantly. There aren’t enough stars for this place.
Ridiculous prices. They should be ashamed. It's more expensive than eating at the spotted horse or little barn. It's good but it's not a mid tier restaurant. It's a diner. Embarrassing.
Service was spectacular! I ordered something that didn't turn out to be quite as good as I thought and they did not hesitate to ask if I wanted something else and took it off the bill. If I am ever in town during breakfast time I will go again.
