Loved the rooftop deck. Food was mediocre. Drinks were pretty good and service was good until…… when I looked at my credit card statement, I noticed that they added another $5 onto the already 20% tip I gave them!!!!! Not cool AT ALL. I will not be returning.
Thursday night squad needs some work but weekends they are cranking on the rooftop. Maybe some better training on handling customers. Place has allot to give. If they only knew we were the secret shopper they would have learned to treat everybody the same.
Food was horrible... not seasoned and the Calamari seemed like it was left out and refried. Salad had way too much dressing and the chicken was bland too. Chef Ramsay would tare this place up. Drinks had barely any alcohol in it and im not even a drinker so i typically taste any and all alcohol. Bathroom was bad too (cold and dirty)... I'll never go bk!
If I could give a lower review I would. Bar staff was rude, inappropriate, and couldn’t care less about serving us with anything other than attitude. Interesting. The bar itself is nice and a decent atmosphere if it wasn’t ruined by the service, arguably the most important part.
Pretty solid find!Not too packed for a pre show dinner on a Friday night. The food was delicious and quick. The service was friendly and the overall vibe of the place was great. The bathroom situation is rough at best but not a huge deal to me as a dinner goer. Would definitely eat here again, the fried chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries (that my server accidentally stole the last few of) was the perfect amount of food.
Drinks are pricy; it can get busy enough that ordering drinks can be slow. Vibes are fine, but we've gotten miscellaneous liquid (likely whatever was in the bar sinks) dumped on us by staff from the rooftop after exiting during the summer, which was gross.
Six friends entered for a beer on a quiet Thursday evening, and FOUR came back COVID-positive 3 days later and when I contacted them just to let them know about what happened, the staff couldn't have cared less or been more unconcerned. It's obviously not the fault of the establishment, but there's a decent chance it came from the staff, and there was absolutely no concern, questions, reaction, information shared ... nothing. Wasn't looking for an apology or an answer, but a "Hey, we're so sorry and none of our staff have tested positive or showed any symptoms," would have helped. No apparent action to tell their staff or take any steps there either.Safe to say there is VERY little concern or protocol around covid at Elbow Room. So, if that means anything to you, I would suggest any of the other 20 fantastic restaurants and bars in town. Anyways, there are much better places in West Hartford Center with better atmospheres, and where the food is better (and the drinks are priced the same).
I've been here for dinner, drinks, and the comedy nights. The food and drinks are great and consistent. The prices are reasonable. The atmosphere is very upbeat. It's no surprise that they are packed on the weekends. They have a rooftop bar that I have not been to yet, but that seems like a good time, too. Definitely recommend
I went there with some friends food was okay could have been better, they charged my card for someone else's meal with was almost $50 I called calm tried to get the issue dealt with however the manger said he would have had it dealt with it has been about 2 weeks still haven't received my money to add I'm a college student and I have buffet for certain things I called back and left my info and still no call. If you want to waste you're time and money I would definitely recommend this restaurant the prices aren't worth it either.
This was a horrible restaurant. My cousins and I asked for service at least 3 times and no one came to our table. They clearly didn’t want to serve us because we are BLACK! It was obvious because we were the only black people there and everyone else was being served. Do not support this restaurant. We will never go back. Instead you can support a local black owned restaurant in Hartford such The Russell’s which just opened a new location in Blue Back Square. Better food better service. Fogata Mexican restaurant is also a nice place for outdoor dining with great food and great service.
