They have variety of ice creams/shakes and brunch options. Also this is great place of brunch too. Their staffs are courteous and friendly.

Have been bringing the family here for many years. And soon the Grandchildren. Amazing food, great service and overall beautiful atmosphere.

April 16, 2022, is my last visit to A.C. Petersen’s. Although the restaurant’s nostalgic ambiance is that of a small hometown atmosphere, the one singular reason for never returning is because of the ridiculously priced menu items.I get it…the costs of everything are going up. Fuel. Dairy. Groceries. However, it was absolutely disgusting to learn just how expensive it is to dine there. To further compound the issue is the fact that the quality of the food was mediocre at best. The banana split ice cream is a whopping $12.99! This dessert is comprised of: (3) modest-sized scoops of ice cream, (1) banana, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce (not even hot fudge!) $12.99!!Another dessert—a whimsically named ice cream dessert coined The Mini Dipper is certainly mini in size (think Friendly’s Happy Ending sundae) but costs a staggering $7!Everyone loves a nice, hot basket of french fries! But this so-called basket was half full. The basket might have been larger than the regular-priced portion of fries, but the amount of fries in the basket was certainly not worth $7! This was nothing short of an optical illusion. The mozzarella sticks cost $10, which actually isn't too bad, but they give you only six.All in all, the amount we spent on food was just disgusting. Mediocre in flavor, outlandish in price. I’m a staunch believer in getting what you pay for; however, this restaurant fell short of that standard.

One of the most reasonably priced restaurant in West Hartford. With the way everything you purchase is sky high, they have remain the same. And the food is pretty good as well.

I’m only giving two stars because of the service. The food and price were mediocre at best. Definitely would not recommend. Maybe a new chef would help? Overall my family had the pancakes, french toast, waffles and chicken and none of it was good. Oh and the eggs! Bleh.

Was very empty... Service was ok food didn't come out like we wanted.. food was very bland not tasteful at all.

I thought good locally own diners were becoming a thing of the past. These guys gave me hope that you can still find an awesome diner to have a late breakfast at.???????

Of course fantastic ice cream and the place has a 50s or 60s feel to it. It's a little on the rundown side, but the ice cream is out of this world.

This place has amazing ice creams and mind blowing flavors. It is my go to spot in CT and I would recommend everyone to try it.Flavors I love:Graham CrackerMocha Mud PieCake BatterFlavors I like:Extreme ChocolateChocolateMint ChipsThey also have many fruit flavors if you like them.

What has happened to this location? It was such a great dinner! It wasn’t trendy, it was just a wholesome place to go with the friends and family. Now servers are just careless or maybe not trained. I’ve been there twice in one week (12/14 & 12/18)just to make sure the poor service wasn’t just a fluke. Apparently napkins and utensils are optional. I have to get up on both days and get my own napkins and utensils. The scrambled eggs were extremely dry and the toasts are either just warmed up or burned, nothing somewhere close to the middle. At least the ice cream still tastes great.
