I usually get the Chicken Marsala and it’s amazing. The pasta and cavatellis are always cooked perfect as well. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is sometimes the French fries are very dry and they forgot two times to give me a salad.
Overall wasnt a bad experience, the appetizers were great and the peppercorn dressing is by far the best but the entree was extremely lackluster. The Chicken Marsala is priced at $23+ and the chicken was extremely thin and dry and tasted like it was the bargain chicken local pizza places use from resturant depot. For dessert we got espresso with liquor and paid about $9.50 each when the menu claimed it was $5Overall it wasnt bad, but for the price i do not recommend.
We came here for Mother’s Day and to say we were not happy is an understatement! We got there for a 12pm reservation and didn’t get to leave until 2pm. The server Desiree (spelling?) was good at first but once we got our meals we only saw her once. Then when dessert came I ordered the crème brûlée and it was all liquid. When I told Desiree and showed her she said she would get me another one. When I asked if we could cancel the dessert (since my son and husband still didn’t have theirs) she got an attitude and told me no since they were already making them. When I spoke to a manager she asked if I wanted to take them to go. I said fine since it was going on 2 hours of being there and she brought them out, looked at the check on our table and said “you’re all set” and walked away. Only reason for the 2nd star is that the food is good.
Recently stopped for lunch. Quantities were to large for lunch but if you are starving this is the place to go. Food was standard Italian fare. It was nothing special but I suspect their clientele is not looking for unique or special.
Old school style Italian dining, many dishes, desserts, and entries made from scratch. I had the old style cheese ravioli... Perfecto !My wife loves the staff, and the desserts...Please take a moment and visit the San Marino.. reasonably priced.Buon appetité !
Amazing service! They allowed us to stay until after 9:30 even though they close at 8pm on sundays. The waitress was so friendly I wanted to be her friend. Food was great too. They have the best calamari I’ve ever had!
I was about to give this place a 5 star from our last experience there with the food and service being great… boy what a disappointment when you go back and the service was not so great , the calamari app was half cold and and sone done too much like it was reheated, if the food was made fresh this would not happen . we told the busboy the hostess or manager who ever she was finally came and asked we sad we were not mad but could not eat it. she took it back. That’s fine I finished my drink the waistress brought more water never came back to ask about refill for drinks … I went to the bar myself and ordered my own drink. Okay got back dinner served and the shrimp was good. Waitress asked is everything good? Yes the shrimp is good. So during our time there waitress came to our table 3 times during dinner. And one more with the check. So I do not expect free food , but do not expect to pay for inedible food that’s not up to the proper temperature ( I really don’t want to get sick from food poisoning) the appetizer was terrible and should not have been on our check. The manager also said that we should have said something right away … seriously we did to the first person who came to our table the busboy . And i wondered why I was charged for food not eaten and sent away, thebhostess or manager who ever she was and she said well you said you were not unhappy , we said not mad about it. Okay was not unhappy but why is this still on my bill ? We didn’t eat it ! She would not take it off our bill. So if you don’t like your food thee is no point they don’t care about the costumer…it’s sad that it ruined my over all experience with a place I’ve gone to for over 30 years. So bottom line is they don’t care about your overall dining experience . Thanks for a previous great 30 years but you now missed the mark. Thankfully there are so many other restaurants to go to.
LOVE this place. It's been a staple in my family for decades. The food and drinks are amazing. The Rigatoni Bolognese is unreal! I would eat it everyday if I could :)
Was there for a repast. Waitress was a little soft with us. The bartender was very rude. When we decided not to order the drinks from her she turned to several customers on the side of us and made comments about us. We notified the manager and she accommodated us.Food was very good.
Still one of the best Italian restaurants in Waterbury area. Service is fast and friendly and they also do takeout. Veal Godfather or Parmigian, stuffed shrimp or Shrimp San Marino are my Top 4. Definitely need to try it if you havent already.
