This is nearby and we thought we'd try it for supper Saturday night.Seriously disgusted. I rarely review a restaurant unless it's exceptionally good. This was NOT the case.We ordered Calamari to share as an appetizer they smelled really "fishy" & were like thick rubber bands coated in too much tasteless breading that just fell off onto the styrofoam plate. It was accompanied with some sort of sweet & sour sauce. The only utensil we were given was a fork (at least it wasn't plastic) but the calamari was so rubbery that the fork wouldn't pierce it and we could have used a knife. Then for the meal, we both had shrimp baskets (I wanted whole belly clams but all they had was steamed clams) the shrimp were "alright" but nothing to write home about, and, like the calamari, coated in batter that just fell off and just tasted old. The french fries were supposed to be Cajun Fries but just tasted like regular fries. The service was barely tolerable. There was a language barrier. When I asked if the clams were clam strips or whole belly? She had trouble trying to remember how to explain that their clams were only steamed. She tossed the two styrofoam plates and the forks on the table, took our order, delivered the food then the bill. In between she sat at a table near the bar eating her own food. (There were only 3 other tables of customers, so it wasn't busy)The place itself is all wood (think of the wood paneled rumpus rooms in cellars of the 1960s) and to give it an even creepier feel, there's graffiti in black marker everywhere that's reminiscent of a rest room stall. (Some of the graffiti is inappropriate, crossed out but still able to be read) It just felt dirty. Speaking of which, there was a paper napkin dispenser in the middle of the table, I moved it to the side and the damn thing was sticky!I thought it was just me being frustrated & negative, but husband said. It was THE worst calamari and the place looked like a dump and wasn't worth the nearly $50 bill. As soon as we got home we both had intestinal distress. My husband started uncontrollable vomiting and we got him to the Emergency Room for dehydration and food poisoning. The doctor there asked us "What were you thinking of eating seafood in place like that?"So, besides the $50 bill for the restaurant, I can just imagine what the copay is for the hospital. The Health Department should shut them down.
My husband and tried Red Crab for date night after reading reviews of the food. And they are right. The food was so delicious and fresh. The hush puppies were fantastic. My husband got the weekend special with lobster tails, shrimp, and crab legs. Get their sauces mixed. You wont be disappointed! I had the catfish and it had a nice little kick. Service was fantastic and they keep the place very clean. High recommend.
Yummy. The food was great and the waitress service was excellent. Place is clean. I recommend this place.
They don't greet people well, but the food comes fast and the drinks are alright. The quality of the food was top tier! We left very full which is great. Everything was steaming H O T and well seasoned. It was a very spacious spot too. For the lobster tail though...sizes were a bit too small for their price.
If you're looking for a seafood restaurant this isn't the place. When it comes to seafood this menu is quite limited. There is a selection of boiled seafood along with a few fried items. There is also a small selection of Chinese dishes, some with seafood but not sure why they're even on the menu other than the owner(s) may be Chinese. It's not really a seafood restaurant and it's not a Chinese restaurant. Those are 2 good reasons to eat somewhere else. Also, we had Chinese dishes and they were not very good. Save yourself some time and money and eat somewhere else.
The crabs and potato corns are bathed in your choice. You will enjoy it
Stay clear of this place! I got the hot trots within 15 minutes of leaving! The food is tasteless and not cooked well! They are never busy which means your seafood sits for long periods of time! Also the wait staff is a mix of Ghetto people with the Yo what you need attitude and little girls who could careless about there jobs! Also the parking lot is filled with needles and beer cans!
Great place, good service and delicious food!!! Recommended! Food was fresh and delicious. All seafood was tasty and fresh. Soup was good. People are nice and friendly.
Visiting from Arizona, we were surprised to be the only people in the restaurant at 6pm on a Friday. This is kind of an Asian/Cajun fusion restaurant. The food was very good, even my wife who is from Louisiana was happy with her boil. What the restaurant lacks is atmosphere. Our server was nice, said that she is from China, but spoke very broken English. Fire up some atmosphere and this place would be great. For now, definitely go for the food. Very good
We are so lucky to have this place just a few minutes drive away from home. Food is delicious
