If you’re in a hurry, this isn’t the place to stop. Had a lovely table outside yesterday but waited 45 minutes with no water and no utensils before food arrived. When I complained, the waitress and manager screamed at me. There are plenty of stops along I 84 with good service without dealing with these jerks

A regular stop for us in the Vernon area. Come hungry. The food is amazing and the portions are large. Well worth he stop.

I’ve driven the Boston- to-NYC metro route more than 200 times and, if I stop, it’s usually at Rein’s but last week, driving with my vegetarian sister, we opted for something different. Vernon Diner was classic in every sense you’d like diners to be — large, affordable portions, great selection, mouthwatering desserts, and a friendly wait staff. I won’t say anything negative about their competition, but if you’re in the mood to try something different en route … yet comforting… check out Vernon Diner.

Whenever our family travels from Massachusetts to New York, we always make a stop at Vernon Diner. Always great food and desserts are the best ! ?

Traveling southbound, saw this place right off an interstate exit before we got into the Hartford area and stopped for late lunch on Easter Sunday. The place was very crowded but surprisingly was well staffed and organized and the wait was not too long. We had basic diner type food and were quite pleased- portions were large and the waffle fries a good choice.

Very nice and convenient. Decent prices and selection of food and a lot of food.

Good food and even better deserts.. I will definitely go again, this will be a regular stop for us now when we are in the area.We went there on a Sunday- got this off google maps and I was glad we did go here. The food was excellent.Reason for 3 ⭐️.The waitress was extremely busy even though there are 4-5 other wait staff standing by the computer. Not sure if she didn’t want them to help her or it was a policy thing?Waited 10 mins before she came over and took our order - then it took her another 10 mins to get salad and soup - our main course was sitting under the hot plate for a good 20 mins.I know because the food was warm but the plates was extremely hot - how’s that possible?I needed a refill on my water and asked the busboy to get it.She checked on us once and only because someone came in and sat behind our booth. We had to track her down for the bill.I believe they need to change how they handle their wait staff, there are plenty of them standing watching no need for someone to come in and wait 10 mins or more to take your order.

Everything we got was good, service was good as well. Decent sized portions on everything. Only slight issue I had was with the Teriyaki Trio, said it came with Shrimp but only had 2 small shrimp total. If you're gonna advertise Shrimp as part of an entree it should definitely have more than 2.

This place is a hidden gem! I had apple cinnamon waffles and oh my gosh, loved them (and I eat a TON of waffles). Nice and crisp outside, fluffy on the inside and amazing toppings. The strawberry and cream waffles, also fantastic. They have a bakery on the inside and it was amazing. Open all day/night, this is an amazing place for breakfast at any time of day.

Food: 4 - The food here is decent diner food. I have only had their breakfast so I am basing my rating off of that. I had their Vernon Special which had the option for pancakes or French Toast, and came with eggs, bacon, and sausage. Their French Toast is very good and the slices are nice and thick, but not soggy or overcooked. The rest of the breakfast was well done and tasted good, too.Service: 4 - The staff here is friendly. Good service overall, but as this place is popular and crowded, it takes a little bit longer to get your food, but the staff does a decent job with checking in and making sure you have plenty of coffee and drinks.
