It would b cool if the staff would focus on getting orders ready instead of chatting with their friend at the window wearing his pajama pants, bragging about a $13hr job and smoking bowls
SALT 2.0 is the current occupant of this space next to the Warner Theater. It's predecessors had good food and service, as well. Backstage. Sliders. The size of the place must have a high overhead. SALT 2.0, a catering hub and bar for the Saltwater Grille in Litchfield, is not a dinner service restaurant that also offers monthly five course wine dinners. Their menu, (see my photos), is bar fare that mostly features Mexican and Asian food options.Checking out their new karaoke night held on Fridays, we ordered edamame, a chicken and cheese quesadilla, nachos, and fried cauliflower off of the happy hour menu to share. (4:00-7:00PM daily) The edamame was steamed properly and well salted; the chicken and cheese quesadilla had enjoyable portions of chicken and cheese; the nachos had a mix of colored corn chips and plenty of salsa and queso sauce. We added ground beef. The fried cauliflower was not something we'd order again. It wasn't bad - just nebulous fried nuggets. Nice choice for vegetarians. Our drinks had a good pour.Since my partner was singing, we were there for awhile. Service was friendly. The karaoke is new at this location so it needs to build up a regular singer base. Right before closing, a few young adults and a senior came in to sing a tune. Good job by all. Over time, I ordered the Poke Tuna Sushi Wrap. Delicious.
I’m pretty sure other items on the menu might be good but the tacos not worth it, there was no flavor no seasoning, not truly a potential of what a taco could be… they just added a few pieces of uncooked meat and stuck a lot of lettuce that seem like a toddler broke apart and tomato pieces that where bigger than a dice. I was really disappointed.
We ordered pick up from the Torrington location for our first time. I've been wanting to try it because I'm gluten free and there's basically no restrictions but my husband isn't gluten free. He was definitely skeptical. We were BOTH impressed. I got the chips and queso...gluten. free. queso. MY GOSH! And I got the chicken, bacon, ranch tacos with beans and rice. Talk about fresh and filling. And ABSOLUTELY gluten free. Oh. And my husband was impressed with the chicken Caesar wrap and the chicken nachos! Full and satisfied tummies tonight! Can't wait to let the kids try it too!
Our second visit as a family. Pretty busy this time and we all finished our drinks before the food came. When it did, the taco trio we ordered, to share with the kids, came with 2 tacos... Because "it's the same amount of meat in 2 tacos" ... Not really the point, now is it! We also ordered nachos and at no point did anyone offer to bring an extra plate or even a few napkins, I guess others eat nachos very tidy. Drinks were watered down... Even the sprite was flat. Just a very disappointing experience.
Kind of fell backwards into it, I was looking for a place for weekend lunch with better then average food. They did, the food, the place and service were all great. A place that I'll bookmark for a return, and I've got high standards for restaurants. Their online ordering system worked great, but it was difficult to tip, and they deserve a good tip
Salt 2.0 is an amazing addition to downtown Torrington, and continuously delivers exceptional customer service! Their fresh, healthy, delicious food is always prepared beautifully! Salt 2.0 offers several gluten-free/vegan options- Brook's Vegan Burrito is a favorite of mine, as well as their Taco Salad and Soft Shell Little Taco Trio!
This is among my top 3 go-to great restaurants in downtown Torrington! I especially love their vegetarian and vegan options. Honestly I'm so in love with their Brooke's vegan burrito that I have trouble straying from it to try other offerings, but so far everything I have tried has been fantastic! Always delicious with fast and friendly service, whether dining in or for take out. Great happy hour deals too.
I love the fact that Salt 2.0 uses vegetarian cheese! We usually ignore cheese when dining out because most often it's not vegetarian. The food is fresh and delicious with generous servings. The fire roasted salsa is addictive! Online ordering and pickup is a snap. One of Torrington's top restaurants.
Salt 2.0 has variety of food for everyone. Vegan vegetarian gluten free or a meat lover you have many options. Food is perfectly made to order each time we have visited. Today was minestrone soup, bowl of loaded chili, taco salad with chicken and a winter Buddha bowl. All were enjoyed and had to bring leftovers home! We have enjoyed many items in the past blackened shrimp tacos, wraps, enchiladas, salads, to name a few and all were delicious! Enjoy a quick lunch a leisurely dinner with family or happy hour with friends Salt 2.0 is a great place to go!
