great service and great food!
We stopped in this restaurant while in town for a show at the Warner Theatre, and were so pleased that we did! This restaurant has an old-world charm to it; while it isn't fancy, it's welcoming and pleasant, and the food is amazing! The staff greeted us warmly and were attentive during our meal. The pizzas were clearly made from scratch and on site, and it shows in the food. My husband and I shared a Margherita pizza, and we both loved it. The dough was the perfect combination of chewy but not too thick and the sauce wasn't overly sweet, and there was just enough cheese. They have a nice variety of pizzas to suit most tastes, and the pizzas are big enough that we had leftovers even after sharing. We'll definitely come back here!
We hired Pizza Marzano to cater a "Jack and Jill" party for about 65 people. They brought the Brick Oven pizza truck and provided five different pizzas and two different salad options and everyone there was extremely impressed with every option. Now obviously Pizzeria Marzano is known for their amazing pizza, so that wasn't that surprising. But what really blew us all away was the absolutely above and beyond customer service and professionalism from the three crew members who were working the truck. They provided great conversations with our guests, were extremely accommodating with dietary restrictions, and even allowed some kids at the party to make their own pizza, which was an absolute hit!Catering a party of 65 hungry guests is no easy feat, but the Marzano staff crushed it in every aspect and even boxed up the left overs when the party was over for guests to take home. Thanks again for the unbelievable time- The Barcelos Family
Excellent pizza! We tried the Marzano & the clam, both were amazing! I thought they were a little pricey for a 12" pie but they are so worth it! Definitely in the top 3 pizzas we've ever had! I think $2.95 for fountain drinks (free refills) is a little much though. They also have beer & wine selections but we don't drink so not sure of the variety.
Been a long fan of this place.
Happy to return here this Friday evening, and with temperatures warm for mid-March in New England, customers were already choosing to sit outside and the place was packed. Because it was after 4:00, we had to try the Grandma Pie. We chose three toppings, sweet Italian sausage, clams and porcini mushrooms. Sicilian style in terms of thickness, it's surprisingly light and airy for its appearance and depth but still has a nice texture with crunch. It's an amazing pizza to behold and savor. A second order of their Italian wings was everything we remembered. I've been craving them since. I noticed many people ordered salads that came with crusty bread, so they must be good, too.#Pizza is consistently featured in my reviews and I have to agree with Dave Portnoy, founder of Barstool Sports, when he declared on his "One Bite Pizza Reviews" YouTube channel, Connecticut has the best pizza. His only inaccuracy in this statement was confining the best pizza to New Haven. Outstanding pizza can be found throughout the state, from small towns to large cities, North, South, East and West. My top ten list doesn't even include New Haven, but food preferences are always personal.Which brings me to Pizzeria Marzano. Incredible. Unlike Portnoy, I hesitate to try new pizza places, because I have enough favorites already that deliver every time. But my partner and I were out and needed to eat and weren't in the mood to drive anywhere except within our direct location. Not in the mood for Greek or Mexican cuisine, I mentioned this restaurant. He said, "let's go." I should add here, like Portnoy, he could eat a pizza every day. There is just no way I can't give Pizzeria Marzano five stars, though I wrestled with this rating having only eaten here once, there is no table service, no full bar and no pasta dinners. You order at the counter and they bring your food after you've chosen where to sit (large dining space/high ceilings industrial style), they have a decent wine list, a few on tap, and excellent local beer menu all on tap (some pizza places have no alcohol), and they are basically a pizza only restaurant. Who cares? Their food is exceptional. The Italian wings (garlic, herbs, parmesan) are to die for, and our Clam & Prosciutto pizza was amazing. The brick wood-fired oven they had built in Southern Italy, (check out their website 'about' page) fires up to 800 degrees. Tiling was done by local Torrington craftsmen. This creation made both the wings and the pizza masterful. The wings have intense flavor, the crisp on the lightly charred skin is sheer perfection and the traditional blue cheese or ranch dressing with carrot sticks is not needed here. I passed on both. The pizza actually has baby clams in the shell not the usual minced canned clams. A fresh ball of mozzarella centered in the pizza with a leaf of basil is a fine garnish. These guys are serious. They do offer seven salads, nine starters, and six or seven paninis or wraps. After 4 PM they offer a Roman style pizza "Grandma Pie" that the Chef actually went to Rome to learn how to make traditionally and perfectly. We can't wait to try it among many other things. There is a large outdoor seating area in seasonal months, a tented-in outdoor room also throughout most of the year, multiple reserved parking spaces for curbside pickup, and when purchasing a glass of wine, you have the option of buying a poker chip that will give you a second glass for five cents! They also carry a variety of non and low alcohol beverage labels such as Boylan Bottling Co. and Truly. Tuesday's offer 20% off on take-out orders and Mondays have $5. Margherita pizzas from 11:30-4:00.
Absolutely delicious! Upscale pizza in a comfy atmosphere.
I’ve been here multiple times, food is always good. Go to is the buffalo chicken pizza. They also have some amazing slices, which regularly change. Good selection of beer on tap as well.
I could eat lunch here every day. Big selection of interesting food. Everything I've tried comes from fresh ingredients and is amazingly good. Considering that it's made to order, service is quick. Price is not cheap but also reasonable for the portions. Always have enough to take home a second meal as leftovers.Strongly recommend this place if you're in the area.
Neapolitan pizza that reaches perfection. Slightly crispy exterior dough with a soft, pillowy interior texture. The toppings compliment the delicious crust - they don’t overpower it - the Margherita is simpleHeaven. Great wings - had the Italian herb, as well as the Kale Cesar - with homemade dressing that makes it! Stop on by - you’ll be glad you did
