Massive sandwiches for an affordable price. Meatballs & peppers and sausage & peppers were very good. Roast pork was just ok. I’ve had better. Service could have been friendlier too. Would it kill you to smile ??? I’m leaving four stars because I’m in a generous mood.
Pretty gross and dingy inside. Not worth the hype. Sandwiches are pretty mediocre. Owners are also kind of rude if you're not a generic looking straight person.
An event we attended in Colebrook recently ordered a grinder tray for a crowd of maybe fifty from Carbone's Market. Super stuffed with fillings of turkey, roast beef, tuna, ham and salami along with lettuce and tomato, I haven't seen sandwiches like this since NYC at any good deli. A half was all anyone needed to be full. The salad with greens, tomato, cucumber, artichoke and ham was also very good and came with dressing on the side. Drop in to their establishment to order a delicious sky high sandwich. Sizes from hard roll to 8", 12" and 15". Carbone's offers large orders of hot dishes, salads and sides for events, too. Fresh premium meats are also sold here.
Can't beat them for quality, quantity, & friendly service. Best sandwiches in town. Their catering/party platter of sandwiches is fantastic as well. the other meats and prepared foods behind the counter are great as well. Beware the HOT chili. A+ in my book.
Huge sandwiches /grinders !
Carbone's is legendary. You want a sandwich in Torrington? They give you an entire meal. You want a meatball sub? They give you a loaf of bread with meatballs so good you'll swear they're straight from Italy. I always called Carbone's the "Real subway" with how the subs always look like how you'd imagine the pictures of subs from subway look. Get one, you won't regret it.
Very expensive place. Grinders were rock hard and meat didnt taste fresh. Cost almost $100 for food. Reached out to store and was told basically larger grinders are made with harder bread. Very rude staff which after talking to others this seems to be a constant issue. Very disappointed
Great place. Sandwiches are large and delicious with fresh sides. Very friendly staff. I am constantly coming back to try everything on the menu

The owners pay attention to detail. Bread’s been always good but bread is thinner. It’s easier to hold and fits in mouth. This place should be featured on the food network.
