We were hosted in a private event on Wednesday after a funeral. The service was not great at first, being there was only one server, but when another arrived things ran more smoothly. The food was classic. Starting with salads and the house dressing, we had the sliced roast beef in au jus, mashed potatoes and steamed veg. The drinks arrived quickly from the bar. The room was well lit and allowed for guests to navigate visiting family members throughout. Dessert of chocolate torte and coffee were served at the end. The timing for the luncheon service was great.
Went by the blue goose over a thousand times, never ate there. Looked at menu on line. Gave it a try .excellent service, huge menu. Food was great. Prices were comparable to other restaurants. We'll be going back. ??
I wouldn't recommend a large party here. The service left much to be desired. Would have chalked it up to being busy and a large party but after eating I wasn't feeling okay, so I asked the server multiple times for a water. Still never brought one, so I went to the bar to ask and was told they wouldn't serve me because I was part of the large party, "ask your server". Asked if I could have the unopened wine bottle I'd brought with me back because I didn't feel right and was leaving, "ask your server." Asked the manager for a glass of water and the wine bottle back, "ask your server." The server was nowhere to be found since the last time I'd requested water.

We love holding our events here. The manager and staff are phenomenal. The food is excellent, and the dining area is always nicely set up.
It is a reliable go to place. The man at the front desk which could be the manager or owner but he has quite a professional and pleasant disposition. He squeezed his end before a reservations. Which I messed up on of course me. The food seem to be a little bit smaller portions and the prices are a little bit higher. But I would expect that being the most businesses have gone under or barely are making it because of the covert. Otherwise it was pretty good food was tasty and service was very good too. I will go back there again.

Love supporting this long time restaurant in Stratford, CT. Known for their prime rib and delicious horseradish sauce. Huge variety on their menu - great choices for everyone. They have several rooms for dining, space for private parties, and a bar. Great desserts and coffee!
