I normally come here on a regular, as I love the food here but my past 2 experiences were awful. I came on Saturday 4/16 at around 5:45-6pm and was told they were closing and couldnt take my order. I advised them Google says they close at 8 but they said no they are closing. I came again this past sunday 5/29 at 4:30, as google said they were open and again I showed up and they were closed. It sucks because i always take the 45 minute drive to come here and normally im always satisfied but they cant even update their hours or answer the phone... GREAT food. Terrible service :(
OMG....what can you say. Amazing Food....best mac and cheese EVER! Great service. Will is phenomenal with his service skills and Gene is an amazing chef. Thank you guys for a great lunch! We will be back!
Got Fried wings, mac and yams it was absolutely amazing! (Not a fan of the cornbread, and the Light skin guy wasn't trying to hear my suggestion on making it better lmao) otherwise an amazing experience
some of the best food I have had in Stamford! I have seen this place before but a friend of mine took me to lunch here one day and it was amazing! their food is phenomenal. and that also comes with great service. Will that works the front was amazing, so nice, accommodating, and willing to help you navigate through the menu to help you get the best combination. I went back and got take out a few times. I wish a have more pictures of the food but eat time I got it, it was too good to wait lol
Their specialty cornbread is absolutely delicious! Potatoe salad needs some work (actually alot) specifically lots of eggs, a little mustard and some relish. Nice people would definitely continue to patronize.
The first time I had it the food was absolutely amazing. Jean hospitality was exemplary & the food was fresh. This is the second time I was let down & Jean was not there cooking. Today was absolutely horrible. I usually dine in but today I drove up from Brooklyn & had to be back in Brooklyn within 2 hours so I wasn’t able to sit down. This is not to offend anyone but I miss Jean’s cooking ; Latino’s cooking soul food is going to put this place out of business. I absolutely love all Latin ppl + food & I wouldn’t recommend African Americans running a Latin Restaurant unless Latinos were cooking the food. I definitely will NOT be back unless Jean is cooking & the food is fresh. BBQ should not be dry nor should it be served two days in a row unless it was cooked late. On top of having burn pieces in it. This was a total waste of time & money.
Choosing to have lunch at this place was the best idea ever … the service was great .. super friendly staff … the food was incredible … I highly recommend the Mac n cheese and Rasta Pasta … I will definitely be going back … still so many things on the menu that I need to try for sure !! Two thumbs up ? five star ⭐️
Hands down the best soul food spot in Ct!!!’??Soul Tasty has such a great vibe and it’s always clean with sooooo much to choose from. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for great food and good portions for a great price!!

Great tasting soul food restaurant in the heart of Stamford. Friendly staff. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food here is absolutely delicious. They have it all from bacon egg n cheese to baked chicken with Mac n cheese. The food is seasoned just right. Make sure you grab a handmade lemonade and some extra cornbread.
