First time here..was driving by and was a bit hungry..wanted to give El Traviezo a try...Since I was famished, I immediately put in my order..Waitress was very attending and curious..I ordered Chicken Quesadilla..Boy!..was I surprised..when the waitress brought in my order..They were huge..size of a small pizza cut evenly..quite impressive and might I add very deliciouso..There was Mexican music playing in the background as well as on the large screen TV. Overall..the food was great, folks friendly and hospitable. I would highly recommend this establishment.
This is a takeout review. All food is eaten promptly in the vehicle. I ordered chicken flautas and a Carnitas chimichanga. Both were beautifully prepared, nice flaky crust and quality meat. And plenty of food. But I didn't really get any flavor from the food. I added sauce and got some heat but I didn't taste much. On a scale from 0-10 I would rate this 7.7.
Everything was so delicious I ordered the mango margarita & chimichangas & my husband ordered the traditional margarita & taquitos. My seven month old LOVED the rice & chicken from my chimichangas. The server was a doll!
This is a new favorite spot for my wife and I. We had a favorite Mexican restaurant back in DC when we lived there and since we moved back to CT in 2020, we have had yet to fill the void. This place is authentic and I can't stop eating the burritos here lol. Traditional margarita is *quality*. No slacking here. Keep up the good work!!
If you want REAL MEXICAN food, this is the place. It's just a small hole-in-the-wall spot, NOT FANCY but the food is legit. I recommend the Mole, and the Margarita was good.**Brush up on your Spanish before you go in lol.
Captivating. It's been years since I've had Mexican this good and laid back. This is our second visit this week and after trying 5 different dishes we are thrilled to have El Traviezo in the neighborhood. Good spice, generous servings, lovely staff. A side of rice has no right to be this good.My mother can rarely have even black pepper on her food these days; but she scarfed down her spicy dish. It was clear she was in a trance from how tasty the food was.
I love this place authentic mexican the waitress couldn't have been any sweeter. Our meals were delish along with our margaritas and shot of patron after dinner.. nothing fancy just a really nice Mexican flavor and great food. A little bit of a language understanding but we both made an effort .i just love this whole experience. Very comfortable. We will be back. Shimp was cooked perfect. Flavor and feel was so good... My wife and I had dinner there last night and everything was great. I had three hard shell tacos and they were overflowing with meat, cheese and lettuce. Nancy had chicken Mole and ate every bit, yummy. Service was quick even though the place was almost full and people lined up for take out orders. The owner (Jose Corona) waited and served us personally, highly recommend going!!
Really good food and great fast service!!! Definitely would come back.
